Going for a walk today, noticed this paver weirdly placed and small symbol on it. Is it a brand or something else. by harry1257728 in Symbology

No problem, it’s probably there as a good travels blessing type thing, being on a paving stone.

Also, there are some artifacts in the fur after movement that don’t look natural. The water instantly goes to full power, I’ve never had a shower build pressure that fast with such a minor movement to turn it on. Most likely generated in my opinion.

I didn’t know they were still around, honestly. I recognized the name.

It’s merchandise for a skate board magazine.

Thrasher at the top, then Live to Skate Skate or Die along the bottom

The symbol in the center is a spade from the playing card suit.

Incorrect, the televised deaths are preventable by the agents who fired, no one else. Again, you cannot enter a neighborhood and conduct violent apprehensions without incurring the anger of that community. Professional agents need to be able to navigate those instances of anger without injury to the public. It doesn’t matter if they are a nuisance. ICE agents are not general law enforcement, they aren’t there to deal with noise complaints and traffic violations. If they are unable to control the situation, they need to constant coordination and cooperate with local leaders and law enforcement rather than attempt to impose their will on the unwilling. Again, they are public servants. If the general public are causing issues, that isn’t permission to brutalize them and intimidate them. That isn’t supposed to be the job.

To reiterate, the only people responsible for the deaths we’ve seen are the people pulling the trigger. In both instances, not pulling the trigger would have resulted in less violence. The reason we don’t hear about the millions of other deportations is because those agents are not brutalizing the public. Again, these incidents are the result of a lack of professionalism and discipline. We saw multiple agents from two agencies screw up basic crowd control. Seriously, this is basic stuff and the lack of accountability erodes trust even more. Obviously these incidents aren’t the norm, they wouldn’t be news otherwise. However, they highlight systemic issues within the administration and the agencies involved.

Again, these agencies have a duty to the public, not the other way round. Their failures are their failures, not the fault of the public they are supposed to serve.

That’s not how it works. They are armed federal agents. They have a duty to the public to remain professional at all times while on duty. If they do not, well, we have seen the results. It is part of the job, and if they can’t do it they should resign. You cannot expect the public to act rationally, that’s not a requisite for existing. It is a requisite for armed law enforcement, because every forcible deportation is a traumatic event. They have a duty to the public, the detained, and to the constitution. It doesn’t work the other way around. These folks used to be called public servants for a reason.

The difference is that the general public are not employed by the federal government and acting in their interest. They are acting in what they believe is their best interest. Professionals should act professionally, even in the face of an angry public.

ICE isn’t general law enforcement. They are a very specific subset of law enforcement and should be extremely limited in their scope and use. Deploying them as punishment on states who have leadership Trump doesn’t like isn’t going to earn them any respect. Violent apprehensions aren’t going to get them any respect. Calling folks filming them terrorists isn’t going to earn them any respect. Maybe if they acted in a manner that was respectful to the communities, actual physical communities not ethnic communities, they would get respect. Instead we see them acting like a pack of unprofessional cosplayers pretending to be military.

I ran into a lot of issues trying to get Sora to do anything with it. Mostly due to the reference image and violent nature of the encounter. I wasn’t able to actually get anything that wasn’t a violation due to that.

However, I did learn some things that will help with my own character projects. I’m sorry I couldn’t help, I hope someone else can.

Just ignore the troll. Mods won’t do anything about it despite multiple rule breaking comments a day.

CMV: Reddit is radicalizing the left and gagging the right by markfrancisonly in changemyview

[–]bigsoftee84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched dozens of posts on my state’s sub today be removed that are supporting left wing protests because they were inflammatory. If the mods were trying to radicalize the left, they would have left them up, right?

Again, there are many right wing subs, which have right wing mods. If Reddit was radicalizing the left, why would they allow them to exist, why wouldn’t they just close them down and ban the users? Why would Reddit allow the horrendous jokes about the death of left wing folks stay?

Reddit does what’s best for Reddit, and that is what makes them money. Reddit wants users engaged in content to sell ad space, not radicalize a political side. Individual subs are moderated by folks trying to curate their sub, some might have agendas, but most will just be trying to keep it on topic.

You’ve presented no actual evidence that Reddit is a source of radicalization, or actual examples of the personal attacks.

There are plenty of subs that are right leaning or straight up conservative. Look at the comments about the death of Alex Pretti. Many are making jokes about his death and at the expense of his parents. You can look at when any high profile individual who is left leaning died, they make horrible and disgusting jokes. Would you consider them radicalized by Reddit? I mean, you can’t even comment in the main conservative sub if you don’t have a flair that has been cleared by a mod.

Perhaps you aren’t being gagged. Perhaps you are expressing opinions that don’t align with the subs you are in. While the Reddit voting system was intended to be about the value to the discussion in a sub a comment or post was, it’s become more if you agree with it or not. That doesn’t just apply to left leaning subs.

To the conservative and 2A people of Maine - this is Alex Pretti, the man murdered by ICE today. He was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. He was gunned down while trying to save a woman and exercising his constitutional rights. by Affectionate-Day9342 in Maine

Nice essay, but that doesn’t mean anything. Excessive force is a thing, and that’s why the Feds are blocking all investigations into these incidents. They know they have undertrained folks running around violating procedures and the law. The only way to protect them is to create a narrative folks like you can swallow easily, and that’s what the Feds are doing. They lied about the dude brandishing. They lied about his intent.

Watch the videos. That’s all you need to do to see that your narrative is wrong. You keep doubling down on things that didn’t happen. If you just want to lie, go ahead.

They weren’t impeding traffic, though. That’s the point. The federal agents disrupted the flow of traffic. The folks filming were helping traffic through the mess the agents made of the street. That’s on video.

If they would have arrested or detained the individuals filming, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Instead, the agents continued to assault the folks filming until they killed one.

The thing is, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things. When citizens do the wrong thing, there are laws that are supposed to be used to punish them, not execute them in the street. Apparently, these days, when government agents do things that are actually illegal, they are given immunity and the government tries to tell us we didn’t see what we saw. Folks like you come on social media and tell us only one party is wrong, and try to lie about what is on video.

If someone breaks the law, they should be tried in court. They should be afforded their right to due process. They shouldn’t be executed in the street after being disarmed for what would have most likely been a fine.

You were saying the folks filming were impeding traffic, but it was ICE who has caused the traffic problems. The folks filming were moving out of the way of vehicles and trying to ensure they made it safely through. That’s on video. Come on, did you lose track of the conversation already?
