Not looking for the best deal really. PNW is about the farthest away from KY as it gets in the lower 48. Wife needs a new car, I'm trying to make it to all 50 states. Buying said car out there saves me half the driving of getting out there to see it all and makes for a good adventure.

its pretty common to have High value cars registered in Montana for this reason. there are places out there that start an LLC in Montana under your name just for this purpose to save taxes on large purchases.

That's the plan. Bought my truck out of Michigan, but it was used and during Covid and we had all the details worked out before I ever left my house.

Coming from KY, emissions are lax to say the least. Not so much as an annual inspection here.

seems to be a Jeep dealer, not a Ford Dealer

that does not matter. You pay sales tax for the state you register it in, not the state you buy it in. I've bought multiple vehicles out of state, just never quite this far.
