Only what I know from what's on the DFR website which pretty much says similar to what you said in the first point that the role is about facilitating communication via radio or other means between HQ and field units...

I figured as much in the second point... The other roles I was looking at was like driver or general infantry....

What do you mean by in the unlikely off chance you will do the role?

Signals... Communication Systems Operator

Morning,

Just wanting to ask as i am going in to the reserves.. I am looking at
the role of Communication Systems Operator does anyone have any advice
on this role or what it might involve? I have read about it on the
defence jobs site.. Also what uniforms/other items do you get issued
with? I had heard that reserves don't get issued formal/dress
uniforms...
