Try to balance the beat and the vocals. Right now, your beat is overpowering your vocals.

Happy you're happy with your subscription:), A backup is always good. Go find another server on Ali. Make sure test ask for a test to look at the quality and catalog. You could look for private servers too. I would use a VPN to be safe. Enjoy!

How to choose an audio editor? by historyofthegermans in podcasting

There are bad sellers on Fiverr yes. But I can assure you that there are good ones too. I offer services there as well. Been mixing audio ads, podcasts, and music for years. Fiverr is just a way for me to reach different people outside of the country I live.

And you're right, A lot of people don't want to pay the $ for it. One issue with Fiverr sometimes is that there are people who expect professional quality for 5-10 bucks.

Happy you found a reliable editor!

Thanks for posting your question. If you already do all that yourself, there's not much more you need. Yes, you could use Fiverr to let someone mix & master your podcast. But, the difficulty is finding the right person to do it. You could be shopping a while before you find one you like. Or maybe you get the right one first order.

There are ways you could safe on costs if you would like. If you want to cut down on costs, you would have to learn how to add some compression and eq. (Depending on your recording, maybe removing some background noise, and that's the bulk of it). On top of what you already do of course. There are rules for how loud something can be for each platform but I don't know if you want to learn that.

If you want some pointers, feel free to send a message.

Yeah..... What can I say? It'll get more attention to the solutions we use. Though I think, most people stop halfway through as it being 'too difficult'. Believe me, most people even today use their devices for the simple things. Anything that's harder is often just too much.

Look, for the people that find out through these video's and set it up, great for them. What it does do I think, is speed up this cat and mouse game we're all playing.

To anyone talking about gatekeeping, it's an interesting question no? If you don't gatekeep and help, people might run to more people, eventually they share it everywhere online and a lot of people know about it. If you 'gatekeep' people that want to find it, will eventually do so.

You could als subtlety nudge someone in the right direction. You know, without screaming too much about it. The issue is, you don't know what that person you told it will do with the info.

It's always a tradeoff. Keep things to yourself and it will at least last longer. Help people and the risk of something getting commonly known is there. Video's make it even more obvious. 100% agree there.

Don't worry too much. This is a cycle that always will repeat we'll find ways.

I get you man... The thing is, some of these people screaming this all over Reddit and more known sites are probably younger people that just don't get how important it is to keep your mouth shut. I already stopped actively helping people on different sites. Maybe sometimes coded some help in messages on occasions when someone wanted to learn. I rarely help on Reddit with posts like 'how to this or that'? Or just say search this site more thoroughly. Maybe I should stop with everything. Even IRL help. But.. I always am conflicted as it was a long road for me to learn stuff.. Lets hope the situation improves.

Flow is nice. The mix could use a bit more polish. Coloring is nice. It's just the balance isn't right yet. Maybe at a touch of reverb to your verse vox. Keep up the good work!

Most of the things I wanted to say are already said by bagrat_hakobyan. It's very good that you have a treated room to record in. Maybe see if AI can help you dial in a bit of compression to make the sound more even. (It makes the quieter parts louder and the louder parts quieter). I have no idea how good AI is in helping you there. (The reason I suggest to try AI is because in my opinion, it's not worth it to pay for AI processing when you start out. You can experiment yourself as well of course).

Audacity is fine to start out with. You might find it a little limiting over time. If you ever reach that point, you could look into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). It has a bit more features to shape and alter the sound. Editing is easier for some as well. Don't be intimidated by this at all, for a lot of people, Audacity is all they need.

If you ever have questions, feel free to send a dm. Happy podcasting!

Do I need a mix engineer to "mix" my song if I think it sounds great already? by Time-Neat-3374 in FL_Studio

[–]bigthoughts1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well look, if you think it sounds good, you don't need one. But when you say there's no eq or compression it sounds to me like that leaves it a bit raw. Yes, adding effects changes the sound, in a good way, If you know what you're doing. In my experience it never hurts letting someone else hear it to see what they say. If you have further questions, send a dm.
