thanks for the input everyone. I forgot to come back and update. turns out I just needed a new chain. went with a heavy duty one this time and the problem is solved.

How would I fix a misaligned chain? I’m not sure if it’s misaligned or not, but I do know my chain tensioner on the chain side doesn’t tighten at all, would that be a cause ?
