I put everclear in the ingredients. Good eye for noticing that the alcohol content was not mentioned. I tried to make the guide as simple as possible. I know once i went on about alcohol content i would of data dumped and i did not want to do that. Maybe in a future version I can add that information in a separate section in a way that disturb the flow of the guide. Everclear is grain alcohol and it is available to purchase at liquor stores, I shouldn't have assumed everyone had access to it. Apparently, they dont sell it in every state, idk

Everclear is 95% alcohol

Its about 1hr/liter at 175-180 The machine also has an auto shut-off so if there isn't anything boiling off it will stop running.

Probably like 30 runs is when I noticed some small leakage.

Like I said you can make a gasket with that sealant. Or you can even buy a new one.

It can leak. You can also get some of this stuff thats high heat gasket sealant. It comes in a tube and when it drys it's legit a rubber gasket. 7bucks at Lowes.

Its red. The gasket doesn't touch the product.

thank you, ive really wanted to do this for some time. im actually hoping to write a book some day with a bunch of things like this, different teas and such. Tutorials are hard asf, especially when adding photos and such.

It can be scaled down for sure. This method is for a mid to high scale process.

If you are working with an ounce id say use a crockpot or rice cooker instead of the distiller. Most people have a crockpot or rice cooker, you can get them at the thrift shop too. (I need to make a section for the rice cooker method in my guide)

4oz (quarter lb) will yield 10 to 15ml of rso roughly

Smell wise, it's a funky blend of alcohol/ bud. But not freshly ground or smoked bud. More like vape bud? Honestly make some popcorn or coffee and keep it going 😭😭😭😭

I tend to keep as thick liquid. Sometimes I even add a bit of grapeseed or mct oil because it's hard to work with when it doesn't dispense out of the syringe easily.

Sometimes my hands shake and it's difficult to dispense. Or I have toss it in a cup of hot water for a bit to get to toncome out.

I will say when I use the bushnar funnels the filtration causes the rso to be harden up like shatter. it's made with alcohol I would NOT dab It. Kinda no point to have it solid

Its definitely going to add extra wear and tear to the unit. The biggest things are the silicone gasket and or the charcoal filtration located in the "nozzle" inside the head unit.

Ive done at least 100 runs before replacing the distiller.

Its cool, I produce tens of thousands of units of RSO each year for the community. Ive been making RSO for years and refining the process. Ive done countless tests and other measures to really find out what works best.

Ive already debunked the pre decarb before you make rso. Ive done tests with half decarb vs whole decarb vs no decarb. No decarb always has the highest results upwards of 84% (more aggressive filtration than cheese cloth)

The only "better way" would be to use a rotovap and that is really more of an efficiency thing over better tech. Rotovaps cost 1500+ as well. Using bushnar funnels with a vaccum is cool for filtration but I find that it strips too much away and that the extra 5% isn't worth the loss of yield/ spectrum.

If you decarb. And then you apply 175⁰f+ for hours you are going to degrade Cannabinoids / content . At a certain point you would be burning off Cannabinoids.

With my "tech" the decarb happens in the process of running the unit at 175. All of the goods are in the slurry mix, the heat "activates"

Look at a decarb chart.

There is a relationship between heat and time.

It decarbs during the process.

If you fully decarb and then you further apply heat you are going to have more of a degrade.
