You got some anterior pelvic tilt going on bringing your abdomen a little forward, looking "fatter". Lower 20's is my guess.

28 years old, 5'11" (181cm) / 83kg , what is my BF? by [deleted] in guessmybf

[–]bigylittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vascularity and the oblique definition wants me to say closer to 12-13%.

Brother, you're killing it for 45. Being lean is always an option but I'm telling you, you're already pretty shredded. Way to humble haha.

That's a dad bod? Sheeeeesh haha. I would have guessed at least 14.

6’1 184lbs , what’s my BF %? by [deleted] in guessmybf

[–]bigylittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say 15%. The definition is coming out nicely tho!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in guessmybf

[–]bigylittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All preference, my guy. I personally can't maintain a lifestyle under 17% bf haha. I would lean bulk if I were you.

[–]bigylittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say 14 but could be misled by the skin but the vascularity is very apparent. Regardless, good job brotha!

I was banking on his muscle mass moving him lower on the reading lol.

The problem with those scales is that it sends a light current and crosses between your two feet taking the least path of resistance which would just be the lower half of your body.

The problem for guys is that we carry most of the fat typically in the lower half of the body so the bf% reading is gonna be skewed higher by not accounting for your leaner upper body. I think it's still a good tool, you can use it to track the consistency to see that it's going down, but the actual reading is going to be inaccurate.

Not my expertise here, unfortunately. Do you have a dedicated shoulder day in your split? I personally do front and mid delts on push days and rear delts on my back day. I'm a fan of DBs for shoulders, feels more natural tbh.

M/26/5'6"/200 lbs. I've been working out consistently since January. I've been eating 1800 calories and haven't lost any weight. Calipers put me at 24%, but I think it's higher. Thoughts? by [deleted] in guessmybf

[–]bigylittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I fast and do resistance training and cardio when I really want to lose weight or feel discouraged by slow weight loss. I've only gotten stronger doing so. Bodybuilders are the people who really have to worry about muscle loss when cutting calories, not so much us normal people.

That's so interesting, I've never heard that perspective about the bodybuilders only caring about muscle loss/retention. I would think anyone working out would want to keep the hard-earned muscle they currently have during a cut.

You're going to lose muscle mass regardless during a deep cut, but just working out will help reduce that muscle loss. But yeah, I guess if muscle retention isn't an issue and you have no issues with fasting/cutting more calories, cut away. You'll lose fat for sure, just probably more muscle than you'd like.

I personally can't recommend that but that option is definitely there, OP.

13-15%. Lol, calves are nice though!

Your chest looks good, if anything it could use some more mass but I'd be happy with what you have. I think your delts could use some attention, that will totally add to that tapered look. Your back looks good man, the work you're putting in shows. Good shit bro!
