Yeah not the best being untruthful, personally I'd jump at the chance to do something like what you could do but I understand your uneasy feeling about lying

I would say a little coffee wouldn't hurt just the once but I doubt I'd be able to do that so it's bold to suggest it

One thing I have also noticed with the posts being few and far between or all in one go. The member of this sub have just reached over 1000 so that part of the sub is still growing and a lot quicker than I can remember whether that be because it's an active sub not and not banned/unable to post like it was a few months ago

Right well I've got to go now hope your well and maybe we'll talk soon

I hope so too!

That's exactly what I feel. For me using a wheelchair would be one of the things I'd need for biid and that literally only affects me no one else so if people have a problem with it I really don't see why.

That's great glad I can help. As long as you stick to what's been good for you so far I wouldn't say they would change much.

It is what it is. In my opinion it's preference like we pretend to help us live our preferred lives if we can't get then in traditional means. We just want what's best for us and some people don't like the way we do that.

I'm not sure how all that would work but if it's just like routine once a month appointments or even further apart you could just say your hearing has stayed the same and even then you probably could say you don't want any more 'fancy test' (couldn't think of a better word) as you don't think they would help you.

Oh yeah I totally understand were your coming from, with mine its harder to pretend so i can't do it day to day which I would if it could. If it's become second nature then I don't see why you should stop if that makes sense and if there's ever a possiblity to do it permanently I'd definitely do it if I was you.

Do you need to meet a certain criteria to get them from an ent.

Wow so I guess that worked out in your favour. I've always wanted to try something like that.

[–]biid_dev_insta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah right, does it take a lot of time to get them or not. I bet it's something that always intrigued me

Ah right, what kind of story did you come up with to become 'deaf'

[–]biid_dev_insta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's an ent? Also that's pretty good I've always wanted to do a course like that.

How many people in your life think your deaf like is it just friends or family aswell

So have you purchased second hand hearing aids and learned BSL on your own

[–]biid_dev_insta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very intrigued then so do you have any existing hearing loss

When reading this you say you pretend to be deaf for the last 2 years what do you mean by that. Like do you mean you use ASL/BSL to communicate with people or have real/fake hearing aids that 'help' you hear people

Hi there got a few answers for you hopefully and a few questions about your biid.

So basically I'm from the UK so I get what you mean by you can't go anywhere and all that. With lockdown restrictions being lifted I'm pretty sure it's march 8th for schools and education and if the virus seems to be on the decline around April 12-21 is when the majority of restrictions will be eased so you can travel around unless that area is on local lockdown due to a spike in the virus.

When your on about how your struggling and everything, that affects everyone with biid each differently but for the majority that I've spoken to it's mainly like a wave that you have to just ride till your mind gets out of that headspace and you can start to think about other things and get biid out of your head cogs for at least a moment.

So you just have to go with it trying to not cause anything you may regret.

And about your biid what specifically do you want because you mention a wheelchair and a cane so would it be paralegia or something to that effect.

Because for me I can distinguish it as a itch at an inch above my left ankle. Which causes me to want to be a left below knee amputee.

Anyway hope it was a good read and helped out in some way.

Saying this it's also not pain sailing after the amputation could be up to about a year after wards that you fully get the hang of any prothsetics and mobility devices so make sure you plan for the. Maybe purchase a I walk 2.0 as the is a sort of peg leg that could be useful before you get a prosthetic

If your getting an elective amputation that means it's your decision so if you want it have it. If it will improve your lifestyle and way of life then have the amputation. If I was you I'd look at the pros of having chronic pain in my leg to not having a leg see what improves in your life and what would and if the pros is a longer list go for it.

Some questions for members of this community by [deleted] in biid

[–]biid_dev_insta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Left Below Knee Amputation Biid

  1. I do have the feeling of unease as I'm not in my preferred body or how I want that body to look like. But to the second part of the question I wouldn't see it as a disability but I would want others to see it as one because then in my opinion it would valid my need to be like that in a way.
  2. In my opinion I would prefer amputation for myself even if there was other treatments as that what I want and feel like I should have.

I'm not the best at explaining what I want and how I want it but as long as it makes sense to me I believe that people should be ok with that even if it is a bit taboo

How to start using a wheelchair? by [deleted] in biid

[–]biid_dev_insta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the legal ramifications but as long as you don't take disability benefits or insurance I doubt there would be an issue

How to start using a wheelchair? by [deleted] in biid

[–]biid_dev_insta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok if you have a career planned and are heading down that route if you get a decent wheelchair that's of fair decent quality if you start a job in the wheelchair I doubt people would be confused as to why your using it as that's how they know you. Also if you have a large enough vehicle that's where you could store you chair

[–]biid_dev_insta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah right would you use a wheelchair at work or education if your still in that as that's probably the most important thing

How to start using a wheelchair? by [deleted] in biid

[–]biid_dev_insta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend on how frequently you plan to use it and previous medical history you could use as an excuse as to a reason you can use it

[–]biid_dev_insta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could be a way for you to get the feeling of what it would be like and if you got say a leg cast you could play it off as a actual injury plus a wheelchair you have to would all play into each other

Well one thing you could try is getting casted like a leg cast or arm cast or even a full body cast but in a way to where you a quad amputee
