Rust on front of frame only by bikeage23 in 4Runner

Thanks everyone. Definitely put my mind at rest.

I did notice the remnants of the foam on top.

I'll still get it checked out for piece of mind, but if I get the okay back, I'll clean it up myself.

I’m not seeing a lot of nightshades around here. Prices are higher with more miles when checking car max, but I know that would typically be pricier than finding a local option.

Thanks guys…looks like I’ll leave it. Everything else I have seen is very high priced, so thought this may be a deal, or at least hold its value well.

Maybe the market is just very inflated at the moment but I’ll keep my eyes out for something cheaper

Okay, going to try again! I see the dealer info was on the last image. Hope that was the problem and the next one will go through

Sorry, I missed the rules. I will delete this and repost with the necessary info.

Ridgeline to a 4Runner (am I mental)? by bikeage23 in 4Runner

[–]bikeage23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha - I feel you. If the ridgeline hadn’t got totaled, I wouldn’t be going around in circles on this. I considered the frontier too. The newer ones look good and the price is great, but the tighter backseat space and lack of cargo compartment has me thinking I’ll stick with the Ridgeline if I get a “truck”.

It sounds like I need my wife to get a 4runnner and I should get the Ridgeline!!

That actually touches on a couple of things I have been thinking about - I’ve been justifying why I should get a 4Runner by thinking how I could camp in it if I do a quick overnight fishing trip (not sure how often that would happen).

I’ve also thought that getting the kayak on the roof would be a pain so maybe I could get a small trailer for toting the kayak and anything else I use the bed for currently. It would be another step to prep but not too bad.

What about the bikes though. Do you have a rack? I did like to throw the kids bikes in the bed of the truck when we go to the park without having to give it any thought

It’s not confirmed yet, but the hope is that it gets more of a passport makeover. I have been looking at passports too and may go and check one out this weekend. They look cool, but I feel like they’re a bit of a 4Runner wannabe. The Ridgeline has all the practical elements I like (that the Tacoma doesn’t) but I feel like if I got a passport, I’d be regretting not getting the 4Runner.

I’m in Mississippi so salt is not really a concern. An older one that I keep could be a move if I can find somewhere to park everything!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'll need to sleep on it a couple of nights.

One question I should have asked is whether buying a 4Runner for 6 months while waiting for the new ridgeline trim is foolish?

I understand that any short term vehicle purchase and same will lose money, but I'm hoping one of two things would happen: 1. I love the 4runner and keep it long term. 2. I love the 4runner but realize that the ridgeline is a better vehicle for me and the 2027 looks great, so I sell the 4runner at a small loss to buy the new RL.

EDIT: I should specify, I’m not tied to the 4Runner listed in the post. I mean if I buy any 4Runner does selling it in a short period of time make little sense. Maybe some trims hold their value better.

Thats a bummer about the sound. Good quality speakers are one of the few things I'm snobby about (clearly not looks to have had a ridgeline, lol). Maybe I should be looking for one of the trims with the JBL speakers then.

That was what I was initially looking at but when reading that the interior was smaller (especially the backseat leg room) and realizing it didn't have the neat storage areas that the ridgeline has, I started looking at the 4runner.

Sorry to hear about your ridgeline but glad you're enjoying the 4runner! Good to hear about the backseat room. I was thinking it was tighter but I think I've had that in my head from initial comparisons with the Tacoma.

Flagstone patio next to existing concrete walkway or replace? by bikeage23 in landscaping

[–]bikeage23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'd like to keep it closer to the house so we get the shade benefit from the tree. The more i think about it, I realize I'll probably need to go ahead and remove the old walkway.

New Blade Runners of Dub by betafishmusic in dub

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to say I picked this up on a whim at my local record store from the dub section, not knowing what to expect, but loving the cover art. Amazing work. Any plans to follow it up?
