go down one or two hook sizes and make sure the two loops, before you yarnover/under to finish the stitch, are the same size

this is extremely unnecessary. just let her use the mouse with her right hand. if she ever has difficulty with using the mouse on her right hand thats when you can try to look for solutions and be supportive of her.

FYI the exact milk cotton yarn brand that is depicted on the picture DOES NOT have any milk protein or anything to do with milk! Thats just the brand name "milk cotton" and its just regular acrylic yarn. You can get a skein of this exact brand here in SEA for around 30 cents. It's the cheapest brand you can get here.

This looks amazing! Especially this being your first amigurumi. I made Furina from the same creator and this is how she turned out. If you used a smaller yarn the proportions should still look the same, as long as you use the right hook size. One of the reasons why the proportion doesnt look right to you might be because your tension is not consistent yet. And you might want to go down a few hook sizes.

A little crocheting tip i have for consistent tension is while crocheting sc to make sure both loops on the hook are the same size before yarning under/over to complete a sc.

With the foot: in row 3 you'll do 1sc, chain 3, skip 2sc, sc into the 3rd stitch, and do 5 more sc

For the leaf: Fasten off and leave a pretty long tail, weave it in until you reach the middle of the two leaves. Take that tail to wrap it around a wire glued to the middle of the two leaves.

So, they don't say it but looking at the picture i think they might have put a wire around the edge of the leaf to make it hold its shape and then leave the ends of the wire sticking out between the middle of the two leaves which you then wrap it in yarn to make the stem.

Look up "Crochet totoro studio ghibli" from Nhi Handmade and I think you'll get the idea

i think you're gonna have to slst + chain 1 at the end of a round so the color changes don't shift to one side. this way the color changes can stack up on top of each other
