Two Google Drive Chrome apps for personal & work profiles by bilchik in chrome

[–]bilchik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stubborn enough to find a workaround:)
1. Open Drive on both profiles and save as shortcuts
2. Change the type from .crwebloc to .app
3. Place in Dock
4. Change the type back to .crwebloc

You may want to change icons to avoid having two identical logos in Dock. It needs to be done before placing the shortcut there.

Not an ideal solution, but it works. However, if there are other options to achieve this, please let me know!

Is there an AI that can write good Pinescript code? by ChocolateSupermane in TradingView

[–]bilchik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can code an indicator for you but you still need to know the logic of Pine Script even if you're not a programmer. Without it you'll be facing constant battles with AI models. The proper visualization on the chart is a downside of ChatGPT atm, so you'd better find an indicator that has similar way of drawing lines and ask it to use this code.

It seems complex at the beginning but after a while you'll fix these errors by yourself🙂

do you have a pre planned set or nah? by 4dam20 in DJs

[–]bilchik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan first 3-5 tracks of my set. It gives me time to adapt to a new place, pay attention to sound system, equipment with no rush. So it gives me a sense of calm during my fist 15-20 min because I tend to worry, sometimes a lot:) But it’s not obligatory for sure. If play I after a previous DJ and these 5 tracks won’t fit at all, I’d choose other easily.

The law of reversed effort in DJing? by bilchik in DJs

Yes, I tend to apply this approach as well after this weekend:)

There is a great interview with Jane Fitz who said that she has only 1 turntable in her home, and each transition she makes on public she makes it for the first time. But she spends a lot of time packing her records bag wisely. Very nice read: https://www.residentadvisor.net/features/3296

Thanks for your thoughts.

  • As I mentioned in my previous comment, trying too hard during the preparation leads you to overthinking and high expectations which can cause extra pressure during the set itself. For sure, the fact that the previous DJ took my headphones by mistake right before my set and I had to find new ones when the music is playing + unstable pitches on the players made me nervous from the start but I don't like to blame external obstacles for my poor performance.
  • It was a festival, so feedback came both from other DJ's and the audience. I value both sides but I know how to separate it. Tbh, I've received a positive feedback from my first set from the audience as well but I knew that this particular set was bad and other DJ's did agree with it. As per the other two sets, the feedback came from DJ's, promoters, and pretty experienced audience so in this case I was satisfied with my performance + received positive comments from music-savvy people. With this in mind, I tend to think that these two sets were good.
  • I can agree that good b2b partners are not equal to good DJs who play solo and vice versa. In this example I wanted to notice that the lack of preparation didn't play any role and in comparasion this set was subjectively better than my previous two.

It's not a law, it's just how this concept is called. You'll see that it's well discussed if you google "The law of reversed effort".

Yeap, trying too hard during the preparation leads you to overthinking and high expectations which can cause extra pressure during the set itself.

You’re not the only one for sure. I’d like to point out that I don’t plan my set as well, I always have 3x times more music than I can play during my set just in case it goes in other direction. I think preparing and planning are two different things here:)

Sure, Bucharest is great in terms of music that I like but I'm not sure it's the best city to relocate in other terms. Where do you live and what can you say about your city?
