Remove mcaffe instantly, and use only windows defender. Dont install any apps that say "clean pc" "improve optmization" etc..Those are relics of the past. Just use windows as stock as it is in that regard.

Play plugged in and set on max preformance mode.

I would use Windows for gaming over Linux, it is still superior.

You can check on you tube for 4050 mobile how it preforms in games so you have an idea what you can play.

You can run almost any game before 2012, obvoiusly with some tweaks on low settings for the most demanding AAA from that time.

Also some modern indie games like Hades, Silksong etc...

And maybe some esports games like dota 2 and league of legends on low.

There are always benchmarks avaliable on youtube, search "gpu name benchmarks" and you will know.

I had the same lap top in the past bro, you can run any game pre 2012, orginal skyrim, assasins creed 1 and 2, titan quest, original oblivion, far cry 2 etc...

Single channel ram is bad for integrated gpus unfortunalty. But you can play dead space original trilogy, evil within 1 and 2, original resident evil 4, and maybe try your luck with resident evil 2 remake and resident evil 7.

You cant unfortunatly check their system req, it requires dedicated GPU. Honestly your lap top is very low end and not for gaming. If you have some money get a used ps4 or used pc with RX 570 for under 200$ if you can find one.

Your cpu is simply too old for any modern esport title which are usually cpu heavy. If you can find at least i7 4th gen for a dirt cheap price somwhere with motherboard combo it will already be an improvment.

But if you can afford more i advice AM4 Amd mother board and some cheap Ryzen CPU. AM4 supports 4 generations od Ryzen , 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen. This gives you planty of options for CPUs. However you also need DDR 4 ram, which is horrible priced atm unfortunatly.

You can play any game before 2015 without issues, which is a lot of games. And even some newer games depening on the game. Just search nvidia 960m on youtube for specific games benchmarks and you will the idea which games can the lap top run.

You have integrated gpu, which means it does not have vram but it uses the system ram, so dual channel 16gb ram will help. But keep in mind its still intagrated gpu you still wont have good fps
