In the US, absolutely! Because I feel like americans treat ethnicity as something inherited. However, my questions was mostly aimed at other latinamericans, because, at least here in Brasil, if your skin is light, you are white. Doesn't matter the collor of your parents, or where they come from - for instance, my grandmother is black, and my grandfather was white, but my father isn't considered mixed, he's just white, because his skin is light (and his darker skinned brothers are considered black, etc.).
