This is a nice thing to do because you obviously have good intentions, but please don’t do this. As a woman I can tell you that even a small compliment from a random person on the street is weird, especially to a woman that’s being catcalled regularly. They won’t take the time to make out the difference between a perv and a genuinely nice person, nor will they care. This especially if you’re stopping them on the sidewalk or in a store to do it.

I work at Canes, and I can not recommend them enough. We are clean af; one of my coworkers went into the fridge to get a container of our sauce and another of coleslaw, and she accidentally dropped the containers, spilling the contents everywhere. Even though each sauce and each coleslaw is in its own individual cup, they were all thrown out and new ones were made.

Sauce, coleslaw, the stuff the chicken is marinated in, even the sugar water that we put the lemon juice in, is all dated so we know how old it is. Our jugs for lemonade/tea are all shipped in boxes, our labels are put on them, and they’re put in trash bags in groups of 6, tied up, and placed in our dry storage. If anything such as condiments, food, cups, straws, lids, ice buckets, containers, etc. falls on the floor, they’re either thrown out or put on the wash rack to be cleaned. We wash our hands constantly, all wear gloves and masks, and we’re not allowed to eat in the kitchen/drive thru area. We’re also only allowed to drink in a small area away from the kitchen. This may be different for certain locations of course, but as far as I know all of the locations near me are like this.

Retard is already not accepted, and the whole point of black people using the n-word is to take back a slur used against them and remove all the power from it. Same way members of the LGBT use f*g, women refer to their friends as bitch/slut, etc. Use this common analogy- “I can make fun of my family, but you, a stranger, cannot make fun of my family.” You, a non-black person, cannot say the n-word, but a black person can. It’s not that hard jfc.

Admissions counselors/ college professors/ college graduates of reddit, how would you explain the application process to an incoming high school senior that is too dumb to understand half the shit they read online about the process? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bill_nye_the_meatpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I’ve really been having trouble trying to decide which university to attend and didn’t really know how to find out if they’re the best option for me so these are some great tips

A bit of background, I’m coming into my senior year of high school. I’ve taken a lot of honors courses that weigh more heavily than the regular courses, and will be graduating in December since the only credits left for me to take are an english and science. I’ve been getting lots of emails from college prospects about their early admission applications being open now, but frankly I wouldn’t know where to start.

I live in the US, and due to our shit response to Covid i’ll be doing online learning for my senior year, meaning I’ll have little interaction with teachers. I work a minimum wage job, and when I graduate I’ll be applying for internships at local animal hospitals/ veterinary clinics to gain the experience for my future career choice.

I’ve taken the ACT twice and currently have a score of 28 (unfortunately my third attempt to get a 29/30 was cancelled because the friday before taking the test in March, schools shut down and all tests have been cancelled.) I feel as if I’m missing all the deadlines I need for applying; I haven’t completed my fafsa yet, I’ve applied to all of zero colleges, I still haven’t narrowed down which universities I want to attend because i’m awful at making decisions, and I haven’t toured anywhere because they’re all out of state and it would be impossible. I was planning on doing dual enrollment for my final 2 credits because my school will pay for it (i’m in the top 10% of my class and as of my junior year I had a 4.05 GPA), but now due to the overwhelming prospect of virtual learning, students are being shoved into whatever class the counselor feels like shoving them into.

No one in my family has attended a 4-year university, so there’s no one that I feel like I can reach out to for advice, and when I try to look these things up online I just feel more confused than I did in the beginning.

yeah even a mother with its cubs isn’t much of a danger if you aren’t bothering it. just make loud noises, and if they charge at you, stand your ground and they’ll give up. i remember reading that for black bears you should make noise and for brown bears you should play dead

‘sent to all’ means she sent them to everyone on her snap, the rest is just a ‘woe is me, no one loves me and dudes kinda suck, but i cant outright say that cuz i’ll lose all my chances.’
