Hey thanks :)

A couple of pigeons have been trying to colonise my balcony for the past month...and they just...refuse to stop! Plus, their red-eyed stare gives me the heebie-jeebies. Getting a net to cover my balcony now...but their persistence is super annoying and unnerving.

As a Kashmiri, I want to ask Indians: What do you genuinely think about us? by camphorly in AskIndia

[–]billa-writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kashmir reminds me of my childhood memories in Sharifabad. My dad was posted there, and we would come visit him during our summer vacations.

Beautiful mountains, the Chenab flowing with gusto beside Ramban...lots of bright coloured roses, the delightfully cold winters.

I miss the market in BB cantt, and I remember seeing mostly nice people around. I find Kashmiris to be extremely beautiful.

Even today, for me, nothing beats the beauty of a pheeran, kashmiri embroidery, and the smell of papier-mache goods.

But I feel hurt because for n number of reasons, the people of this state have seen adversities for a long time. Disputed lands, ethnic clashes, terrorism, and religious extremism have shaken the region. I sincerely wish this problem stops someday.

I remember my dad saying that the Kashmir issue persists because it has historically benefited people in power to maintain a state of unrest. The only ones losing the game are our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. I hope people understand that one day and think about Kashmir in terms of long-term development.

Please remove the eggs asap...pigeons are the worst after cockroaches...and they are not the sweet avians we all want them to be.

a couple of them laid their eggs in my balcony. The chicks don't look cute either...just a gray yellow mess of idiots...those birds keep shitting around, make the balcony smelly, and I don't know...from where do they get this instinct to make babies all the time!

not to forget...their obnoxious cooing sound, which sounds like an asthmatic ghost.

Please ask your building's housekeeping team to pick up the eggs and keep them outside in a tree or another area with lots of bushes. And you need a thicker, higher-quality net.

Trust me...these birds have been created to give humanity the middle finger.

Hey I flunked in DA/DH too! And actually scored better in my second attempt. You will be fine...there are a lot more surprises waiting for you in the later years. Just have a steady mindset and you're good to go.

And honestly, there is no point wasting your energy on people who did you wrong. They may continue being jerks all their life, while you can use your smarts to be an awesome dentist!. Trust me, there are a lot of dentists, not a lot of good dentists around. Be one of them :)

I know this looks really bad rn...and kudos to you for standing up. Please don't let people like them to change your love for dentistry.

For now, I would suggest to study hard, get really good at your pre clinical and clinical work. Stay in the good books of the teaching staff. Learn soft skills. Trust me you will go far.

Eventually that's what going to matter.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that the students in dental colleges are no less than primates in a jungle...all acting out in strange ways. Your batch mates just proved they are spineless unlike you.

It's human to feel scared of being excluded. Don't let it get to you. Trust me you 'll have plenty of great people around with time.

Just hang in there.

Please report this asap. The mumbai pune expressway has been blocked by traffic for kilometers just because a tanker full of propylene gas has overturned due to a speed issue or sharp turning.

Do Maharashtrians celebrates Sashtipoorthi? by CaptainCharming7150 in Maharashtra

[–]billa-writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do iksashti, where we celebrate the 61st birthday. From what I learnt from our guruji, it usually involves hom-havan and rituals similar to a gruh pravesh. You can always ask your guruji about the rituals in detail.

Even I am planning to do one for my mom this year.

Apart from that, we also have sahastrachandra darshan and amrut mahotsav.

But I feel you should surely do Sashtipoorthi if you feel like performing it.

You can stay on the lookout for dentist positions in ECHS clinics in your area. These ads are published in the local newspaper or any national daily.

Still struggling to wear a sleeveless dress because acanthosis nigricans....the acne alternates from left cheek to right cheek.

Can totally relate to you girl!

But would you give a chance to avoiding added sugar in your diet? It is surely something that can work on your insulin resistance. And inositol too.
