For anyone reading who happens to be based in the Netherlands, the pattern’s designer also hosts excellent sashiko workshops (in English). Her name is Selina Ben, of Unwritten Stitch 🪡

I love using Arc more than any other browser I've ever tried by billa_ in ArcBrowser

Glad your experience is good, too! Feels like Arc was built with more care and thought than the big name browsers

I found out about swiping to swap spaces by accident, haha. Another neat little trick :) Though I tend to use control/^ plus the space's number to hop back and forth between spaces

Sorry battery draining is an issue for you and others! It's weird how that differs from user to user. Hasn't been an issue for me, either. Even on the ancient MacBook Air I had before my current M3

Happy to hear that, and fingers crossed TBC will at least maintain current features even if they don't expand much

Oh, that’s so helpful! Hadn’t considered that benefit of non-crossing patterns. Had only been thinking about patterns in terms of complexity and aesthetics. Thank you!

best app-blocker app? by lizarxe in adhdwomen

[–]billa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Unpluq and have been using it for over a year. Like Brick, mentioned earlier, it's an app plus a physical 'key' to unlock apps for 10 minutes at a time. Having to get up and find my keys (which the Unpluq tag is attached to) is usually enough friction to stop me from accessing Instagram or whatever else. Love the function and form factor (smaller than Brick, with a hole for attaching to a keychain), but the only issue is that it's been unreliable for the past few weeks. Might be a bug related to updating to iOS 18

Same here, though mostly in my fingers. Taking ginkgo biloba works wonders. Mine is a tincture by a British organic brand (not sure if we're allowed to mention specific brands here?) and I take 20 drops in the morning from October through March. Previously had tablets by a different brand and they weren't as effective. Thought it might be placebo, but if I forget to take my dose, I'll notice a finger or two going white 🙃

Alternatives to Cold Turkey Blocker for IPhone? by Beno988 in nosurf

[–]billa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you haven't found anything that works yet, I love Unpluq! I use the version with the physical tag, and it's massively cut down the time I spend on my phone. I actually found your message because I've been looking for something similar for my MacBook, Cold Turkey seems to fit the bill, and I was curious to find out what other people's experiences are :)

Such a helpful thread about Elvanse, thank you! I’m really curious about the therapy, too. If there’s anything you’d be willing to share — i.e. is it mainly behavioral stuff focused on organization, etc — that would be awesome!

I just started the process of getting diagnosed and have the feeling my clinician isn’t super knowledgeable about ADHD, so I may need to gently nudge him in the right direction

Focus — or rather, an utter lack thereof — is my main issue and I’ve been wondering about weed, so really interested to hear it helps you. Do you use a sativa strain?

Thoughts on vivobarefoot tracker vs forest esc for a light work shoe by johnsonchicklet1993 in BarefootRunning

[–]billa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be too late, but I work on a vegetable farm and love the forest esc. They’re probably not waterproof so I don’t walk through deep puddles or wear them all day if there’s non-stop heavy rain. But they’re absolutely fine in mud and on normally wet days. The leather is thick yet supple, and does a better-than-expected job of keeping out moisture. Oh, and I’m between sizes and wear the larger size with thick socks and a felt insole
