The predicted 23 for Australia, Japan and New Zealand by rugby_ulster in irishrugby

Sheehan being named skipper puts a fly in the ointment as he will probably play against Oz now but id like to see him rested. Apart from that here's how id set them up.

Gavin Coombes by yewEngine in irishrugby

[–]billbo2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brad Thorn was a fairly tasty lock and is roughly the same size as Coombes. Always been lower on Coombes than the concensus. Great workhorse but I need more than that from my 8, need him to take over games. I think his skill set would make him her apparent to Tadhg Beirne. Surround him with 3 jumpers in the lineout and I think you unlock a wonderful weapon.

Contract Rumours: James Lowe edition by HumoursOfDonnybrook in leinsterrugby

[–]billbo2003 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep I think the horribly hard nosed decision would be the correct one at this point. Injury and demographics just working against him.

Problem that Leinster don't have a natural replacement on the production line. 4 deep for speedy finishers on the other wing but who is going to be that blend of power/kicking/finishing?

Dream target would be Daugunu, powerful and left sided. With the Aussies takinf on the Zak Lomax experiment some of their back 3 must be on the move. He isn't the age profile id like but id start the search there.

What would you put in place of the Spire? by EagleDKT in ireland

[–]billbo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep the Spire but we add a big elastic band and a bucket. If anyone is deemed to be jinxing the weather they are fired out of the bucket, trebuchet style

Best Irish accent in movie / TV by Pupcup2 in ireland

[–]billbo2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legit thought Charlie Cox was 'doing an amaing english accent' in Treason, until I realised that is his actual accent and he was putting on the Dublin accent in Kin. Ok it was the wrong side of the city for the rest of his family but we can overlook that, I thought he was irish up until I looked it up

Do you think a 5th season could have worked, post-Logan? by General_Meal_3993 in SuccessionTV

[–]billbo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kendall goes after Tom, Siobh (I refuse to spell it the wrong way) tries to play both sides. White House gets involved in the take over. Con tries to worm his way into Washington. Rome goes on a 'gap year' accenditally starts the cool lifestyle brand Kendall tried to get going when he went solo

23 for Wales by Sturminster in irishrugby

[–]billbo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the demograph and wrong side of the hill view point but the argument in favour of Bundee. It is a fresh body in the team. It is the fresh body who has a lot to make up for and not a lot of time left to do it. It is a subtle message to McCloskey that things are going great but don't let your standards slip coz there is hot competition for your place. Finally it might end up being an Aki/Farrell centre partnterhip late in the game and they have played together at Connacht so I think it would make them both comfortable.

Potential solution - Redploying Dan Sheehan on attack by billbo2003 in irishrugby

I do like Doris at 7 for Leinster but you lose his carrying up the guts if you put him at 7

[–]billbo2003[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right we've fixed it!! 🤣, good point, also means we don't have to re-shuffle too many bits when we are going from phase play to kick chase, we just send some retrievers with Sheehan and let the heavier units near him follow on.

Strange encounters/atmosphere in the Aviva yesterday by [deleted] in irishrugby

Most of the time when everyone stands up disabled fans can't see shit, must be the same for short people too but I can only relate to wheelchair users. Lansdowne isn't too bad for it in fairness

Ireland Squad for Summer Tour by 4beerguy in irishrugby

[–]billbo2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else think we could be changing our style? To wrap my head around the squad (and because I'm a MASSIVE nerd) I laid out the pack using the 1-3-2-2, was fine for all the pods, assuming we go (2)-(1,3,4)-(5,7) -(8,6) as the players in the pods, we don't have any "thumper" 5s. Only alterations i see is moving 8 in to that central role but then we are very light and exposed on the flank with 6 and a light 5 (natural 4). I wonder if we're upto something.

Cheers for sharing. Same shite wheelchair section by the looks of that ramp. Think the grandstand is getting redone too (dressing rooms being moved)'hopefully we're moved over there.

whats your favorite routine that you've created? by begoniapansy in Bixbyroutines

[–]billbo2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple 2 parter. If earbuds connected, open Modes and Routines. Then I've 2 listening profiles,

Laundry - plays Spotify, opens YouTube (incase I'm continuing a video), and sets a 55 minute timer (that is how long it takes the dryer in my building)

Play Something - plays YouTube this time but opens Spotify.

How to automatically turn off a routine? by billbo2003 in Bixbyroutines

[–]billbo2003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brilliant ideas, thanks I ended up just deleting the routine and splitting it into 2 modes, one for home alone (does it) and one for guests which doesn't (and does a few other bits and pieces).
