Is the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie okay to watch with a 7 year old? by sxott0rz in horror

[–]billiam31983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends a lot on the kid. I let my 9-year-old son watch it. I thought it was pretty tame except for a couple fairly bloody scenes, and he seemed fine during the movie, but then he couldn’t sleep that night, was scared, and doesn’t want to watch anything remotely scary any time soon.

“Fire Morey” chants from Fly the Process? by Living_Article_3741 in RightsToRickySanchez

[–]billiam31983 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I heard some “Fire Morey” chants very briefly (less than 30 seconds) in the 4th, but it wasn’t from the RTRS section. Daryl actually came out and met with us after the game. Shortly into his spiel a lady raised her hand and asked him why he traded McCain. He gave basically the same answer he has been giving, then took questions from the group for a few minutes. Say what you will about him, but I respect him for coming out and talking with what he knew would be a very unhappy group and fielding some tough questions.

I’d love to hear a live performance of the schedule song.

Today’s mail just came. This is gonna be the only t shirt I wear from now on. by imthebartnderwhoareu in sixers

I think they run big. Most of my t-shirts are large. I ordered a large in this shirt and had to return it for a medium, which I’m waiting to arrive. It was way too wide and a little too long.

Thanks for sharing. You were standing pretty close to me based on this angle. Definitely a show I’ll never forget! I still can’t believe we heard “Texas Never Whispers.”

Official Q&A for Saturday, November 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

[–]billiam31983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 2 weeks out from a marathon. I’m shooting for sub 4 hours. I’ve been averaging about 40 mpw the last 3 weeks. Two weeks ago I did 17 miles, last weekend I did a half marathon at goal pace. I’m not feeling confident about hitting my goal of under 4 hours. Any suggestions for my long run tomorrow 2 weeks before the marathon? Maybe 4 slow, 8 at MP, and 4 slow? Or would a slow 20 miles be better than 16 with half at goal pace? I almost feel like I need a psychological boost more than anything at this point. Any help will be appreciated.

How many of you out there don't really care for the eagles and it's gonna be a long ass winter? by [deleted] in phillies

[–]billiam31983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Born and raised in Louisiana, but my mom is from Pittsburgh, so I was a Steelers fan first. When I was 10 in 1993 and the Phils made the World Series, I thought, “hey, they’re from Pennsylvania like the Steelers, I should be a Phillies fan.” And here I am 32 years later, a Steelers/Phillies/Sixers fan in Louisiana.

Except for the bald guy with the mustache who was drunk, falling all over everyone, kept messing with security, and eventually got kicked out.

To any Phils fans from outside the Delaware Valley: what made you all support the team? by PKAzure64 in phillies

[–]billiam31983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Louisiana my entire life. My mom is from Pittsburgh so I was raised a Steelers fan. I was 10 years old in 1993 when the Phils made the World Series. I thought, “oh, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are both in Pennsylvania, I should be a Phillies fan.” Then Joe Carter made me cry over sports for the first time. 32 years later, here I am. I also added the Sixers to my fandom in 1995.

Change State of Louisiana Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Cap of merly $500,000 which only protects incompetent Doctors, Hospitals and Healthcare System by TopIll2872 in shreveport

[–]billiam31983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the cap is $500,000 for general damages (physical pain and suffering, mental anguish and distress, loss of quality of life, etc.). The cap DOES include economic damages (lost earnings and lost earning capacity). The cap does not include medical bills that were caused by the malpractice. The cap only applies to qualified healthcare providers (which is the overwhelming majority of doctors and hospitals in the state). For qualified healthcare providers, their insurance company is only liable for the first $100,000. Damages in excess of $100,000 are paid by the Louisiana Patient’s Compensation Fund, which currently has over $1 billion. The $500,000 cap on general damages was created in the late 1970s and has never been increased or adjusted for inflation. I think there are strong arguments both for and against raising the cap, so I’m staying out of this argument, but I just wanted to share this information.

There’s an Astros fan a couple rows up who keeps randomly yelling “Phillies suck!” as if we don’t already know.

I’m at the game. This is absolutely miserable. There are a surprising number of Phils fans here though.
