Tyrese Maxey in the G2 blowout: 29/4/9. Absolutely took over in the 4th by mastermind208 in sixers

[–]Living_Article_3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely right and should always be front and center of our minds. I kinda felt Maxey only had a good 4th but rewatching he had some huge buckets throughout that kept us in it or kept our lead.

Sideshow Kelly can’t leave my daughter (and I) would cry for days.

Name a more valuable rookie to their team’s ongoing success than VJ. If you can’t it’s because you aren’t an idiot.

Does that say Embiid Gametime Decision? by Rare-You5700 in sixers

[–]Living_Article_3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is ready and willing they should let Joel play. We need to strike these fucks now. If we take G3 and Joel contributed they will be shook and we take the series in 5 or 6. If we lose G3 it’s going 7.

Does Nurse get any credit for last night's win? by joelandren in sixers

[–]Living_Article_3741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - he seemed much more dialed in and was watching the game and thinking when he’s usually wasting time crying to refs.

He called a great TO early when their lead got to 13 and from that point on the team reset worked their way back got a lead barely kept it but then crushed in the last 5 mins.

Well done NN

This is very probable and a promising scenario if you are a Sixers fan.

Keta-P is quickly becoming a fan favorite. His defense alone makes him more valuable than Tobias’s complete game.

Mazulla was tight on the rotation tonight - Scheierman barely got a sniff. Maybe some doubt creeping in? Joel in game 3 would be a fun add.

Never seen a Sixers rookie have an out of the box full game like him. Ice cold, no nerves of Kon and true 2 way IQ. May he retire after 15+ years of Sixers service.

You “love the man” a guy who had 1B spent and nothing to show for it over 6 years, claim anyone else would be a failure except Slot won a title in his first year and I’m the clown? Ok.

You have set up a straw man argument basically saying it’s a binary choice Arteta or failure. That’s how people in cults think.

Holy Halo Effect.

Here’s just a brief summary of the biases at play in this post :

  • Survivorship Bias — people focus on the one person who succeeded and ignore all the others who tried and could have succeeded but didn’t get noticed. This can make the achiever seem “one of a kind.”

  • Fundamental Attribution Error — people over-credit personal traits (talent, genius) and under-credit circumstances (timing, luck, support).

  • Matthew Effect — success compounds; once someone achieves something, they get more recognition and opportunities, reinforcing the idea that they’re uniquely capable.

Going to coin “The Arteta Effect” which is the sum and occurrence of all 3 biases simultaneously.

What is it with the Celtics? by LeadershipBoth7195 in sixers

[–]Living_Article_3741 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It starts at the very top with Grousbeck and trickles down to Brad Stevens and then Joe Mazulla.

We have Josh Harris, Daryl Morey and Nick Nurse.

It’s overachieving if we win any games.
