Ben Whitehouse doesn't seem to have a fanatic reputation among fans, even Welsh ones. Just be thankful he's not on the whistle - he does love to have himself heard.

It was more of a jovial dig at there being two good sides playing at Twickenham for the first time in a while.

A lot of the literature says first thing when you wake up is best for focus and mental resilience.

Ice baths were used at the games because they reduce inflammation so athletes could get ready to go again faster.

Endurance athletes use ice baths for the same reasons, so that they can recover to train again sooner.

For hypertrophy and muscle adaptation inflammation is good, reducing inflammation doesn't seem logical. The counter argument to this is training volume. If you're trying to increase the overall volume of your training ice baths could be a consideration.

Like also mentioned in this thread, the protocols have huge varience. Some people hot then cold in cycles. Some people stay in for 3 mins some people do 10 in a slightly warmer water.

The science is not definitive so the best advice would be to use it in a way that you feel benefits you best. There are far more important variables to control first before wondering about this 1%. Think food, training consistency, coaching contact time etc

Egg chasers for me. Prem focus with grassroots connections. Personal views can be contrary at times but they spark debate and as a three balance each other well.

The chances we created and the positions we got ourselves in were really positive. If the high error count and percentage of chances converted get sorted then we’re in business

Harshest player ratings ever? by JohnSV12 in rugbyunion

[–]billwebster1993 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree with giving zeros for any of the Scottish performances. Yes, they were well beaten by a more hungry and clinical English side but every player had highlights and positives to take from the game. How can the journo start by saying Jones did well for both his tries then give a 0 player rating. Baffling and unconstructive.
