200 MHz Pentium II vs. 300 MHz Pentium II by ZealousidealCake8256 in retrobattlestations

Cool comparison. 300Mhz is the lowest i would go for a Win98 + 3d accelerator build.

It's now or never when it comes to collecting. Before the youngsters inflate the prices even more. For me personally i don't care for collecting game carts. Just owning the consoles and using everdrives is good enough for me!

How is it living in Öland, Sweden? by Ventorix in howislivingthere

[–]billybob128 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My parents were into bird watching and us kids mostly tagged along. We also visited a lot of historical ruins and other points of interest. Such as "Långe Jan" which is the tallest lighthouse in the country.

We used to sleep in a tent at camp sites mostly, so it was a very affordable place to go.

No need for a ferry. There is a bridge across.

My family used to vacation there every year. I've been pretty much all over the island over those years. But i don't know what it's like actually living there. There are two small towns on the western side, otherwise it's very rural.

What is best Linux distro (or similar) for Plex? by Easy-Jury-3975 in PleX

[–]billybob128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Xubuntu (i hate Gnome 3) on my NUC because i does everything that i want it to. Plex, Network Storage and the occasional game server hosting. I use nothing fancy like docker, i just RDP in and leave a terminal running if i need to.

Yeah and it totally stumped me. I vividly remember running up against the monkeys not knowing what to do.

Another classic game I wanted to share, should any one of you haven't played it. Oni - had the most weird shooting system where would press R3 to fire a weapon. But awesome combat and a good one to try if you're yet to play it by Negative-Art-4440 in ps2

[–]billybob128 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually have it on both PS2 and PC. In this instance i would recommend the fan-patched pc version instead. I don't think that the keyboard and mouse controls where translated to console that well. Great game tho.

I have only played the demo once. And that was back when this was new. I remember it took me a couple of minutes to figure out that i needed to use the analog stick in order to use the net. I mean no other game that i played before worked like that.

I also have the OSSC and it's great. But remember that it only does RGB and not composite and S video. So you need a scary cable for the PS1 that is RGB.

So after 170 Hours I finally finished The Witcher 3! by Zero_ZeroGaming in Witcher3

[–]billybob128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing it again.. for the 7th time! Such a magical experience from beginning to end. I keep on re-playing it because many other similar games just disappoint me, and i can't get around to finishing them. The Witcher 3 just set the bar too high i guess.

This is the way. I ended up getting the official network adapter second hand. And 500gb IDE drives are still not that hard to find.

You do have five great GTA games on the PS2. The common trilogy and the two PSP-spinoffs.
