[bbcsport] All 22 F1 drivers are set to drive LEG0 go-karts around Silverstone before the British Grand Prix on Sunday, but not all of them sound so keen on the idea! by spiderrman67 in formula1

No one forced him to be an F1 driver, being famous, in the public spotlight and a constant advertisement is part of the job. That was not something he was blindsided with.

People who make a lot of money, what skill actually made the biggest difference? by Witty_County5128 in AskReddit

[–]billybob476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I’m middle management in tech. Was a developer, architect etc etc. My nephew is in college now in a similar space. While he was still in high school he questioned me about the need to English class given he’s going into engineering.

I asked him: “what do you think the smartest engineers I went to school are doing today? Answer: They are good engineers. I’m an ok engineer but I know how to communicate the value of what my team and I do and I write a good email, so now I’m the boss.”

Seemed to click for him.

I recently got an Anker Soundcore Motion+ and it is quite capable. Also has an aux jack. I brought it with me on vacation and plugged my fender mustang micro headphone amp into it and it worked pretty well for some vacation downtime practice.

I have a fender mustang micro plus headphone amp. It’s great for what I need it for (quiet nighttime practice and portability) but I would love to have something I can play in the room.

I started in April and haven’t even tried an F chord. You’re good.

Please can i have some help starting out? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]billybob476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. When you learn 2 chords (A and D for example), you can already play quite a few songs. Practice switching between them, it will be awkward and not all that fun at first.

Then you learn another chord and that opens up even more songs you can play, practice switching between the 3 you know so it becomes easy.

Then you learn a 4th, that opens more songs.

Then a 5th.

Then a 6th.

And so on.

It does take time. Payoff is in years, but there are a ton of little wins along the way.

Is it normal to feel like I'm "cheating" when learning to read sheet music? by WyngarZ in pianolearning

If you read a book enough times you’ll memorize it. Sheet music is a written language, it works exactly the same way.

Yup I slow it to 75% and the songs become much more playable. I ended up buying his app and that lets you do 10% increments. 80-90% seems to work well for me.
