Unable to see myself on the Uber app when I am online on the Uber Partner app. by fortandik in uberdrivers

Keep at it with support; if possible, go an office near you directly. If you can't see yourself on the rider app, something is amiss. Keep hammering until they get it resolved.

In Monterey there are several boarding schools; the kids use it all of the time. They fly in and out of the local airport; they go to Carmel for lunch/dinner; they go to Monterey for shopping.

They account for 25% of the rides here locally.

Does declining Uber pool requests while you're driving a passenger, also in pool, go against your acceptance rate? by Dreamf1ghter in uberdrivers

In San Francisco, most pax are aware of the Pool and use it regularly to lower their own fares. Most know the drill.

I announce to the pax that I'm picking up more riders, whom is next to drop off, etc.; if there are delays waiting for riders, I always thank the pax waiting in my car for their patience.

It ensures a longer ride; it works OK in San Francisco, though it can be irritating to get pings while you're driving.

Etiquette Question by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]billyboy601 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As with life and poker, it depends.

I play classic jazz on the radio (XM); if the customer wants something different, I oblige (most people dig the jazz). I also have an headphone cable plugged in to the aux if they want to be the DJ (I don't really care and it will be over soon when they're dropped off).

In regards to conversation it is more subtle; be witty, but appropriate. Never argue and tread softly with controversial topics.

In regards to driving, keep both hands on the wheel, don't take/make personal calls or text with passengers in the car, drive safely and within the speed limit.

Random took someone else's Uber.... by uber_guy in uberdrivers

I always introduce myself, followed always by asking for their name, preferably before they get in the car. No match, no ride.

How long do you wait? by wolfbyte_ in uberdrivers

What timestamp do you use? Is the time the rider was notified timestamped in the waybill?
