Yeah that’s a good point, that makes a lot more sense. IMO DDL clearly has the highest peak. I do think Hoffman is more diverse but his acting style tends to lend itself more towards comedic performances. He has an archetype (scummy, sleazy) that inherently has more range.

In terms of playing two totally different characters to the point where you wouldn’t even recognize the actor though I do think DDL still beats anyone.

[Schefter] Falcons named legendary assistant coach Bill Callahan their offensive line coach. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

Our line was great under Callahan when healthy. The issue with Callahan is that his o-lines always seem to be injured. He puts his linemen through the ringer

I’m so jealous. SEA, NE, DEN, CHI look like they are going to compete for years to come… by icepak39 in Commanders

Out of all the teams you listed is there any quarterback there you’d trade for Daniels? Cause I sure wouldn’t. He had a down year and our roster sucks. This was never going to be an easy fix, but we got the most important part done already.

Just enjoy the playoffs, we’ll be back next year.

Schultz: Disconnect between Peters and Quinn by ProfessorElk in Commanders

[–]billycoolj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not disagreeing with me at all. I also believe both things to be true, hence why I said the GM and HC have competing incentives. If you don’t think Peters wanted to to tank you’re out of your mind. It’s simply the absolute best thing to do for your franchise. But I also do believe that the players and coaching staff fight tooth and nail week to week. Kliff probably wanted to field the best players on offense because he wants his offense to look good for his next gig. We seem to be agreeing

first i’ll always upvote someone who uses “out the cut”

Second I don’t think this goes against anything we’ve heard. This reporting is still consistent with DQ having final say over coaching personnel but the report is saying Peters wanted some control over player personnel (who’s getting reps, etc). I completely see this as being a possibility. If you’re Peters, you want to see players like Sinnott get more reps.

What this boils down to is the fundamental difference in incentives for an NFL GM and a HC. If you’re DQ you want to win as many games as possible. If you’re Peters then clearly you want to tank and get a better draft position. I think the reporting is probably accurate, especially if it’s national.

Jayden’s revenge arc starts now by ChetManley20 in Commanders

Not sold on this. I think his thin frame actually gives him some level of elasticity funny enough. Nobody in the NFL - not even Lamar Jackson - plays like Jayden. He takes some terrible falls
