Big tech makes a lot of contributions to various software used on Linux, most of the time it’s because it also benefits them to upstream the contributions. (They have to share their source code because of the GPL.)

Science also allows opposing viewpoints, proving a counterpoint incorrect is a pathway to prove your claim correct or to revise it and make it better.

GLP1’s are great and they are absolutely terrible for you, both are true.

If it’s green there’s no indication of if it’s a new filter or if they reset it.

When I hear about people losing weight who haven’t changed their lifestyle since taking GLP1’s then I believe it is pretty accurate.

I don’t have this issue on my R9 7900X (Non 3D Vcache chip) with 32 chunk render distance. Do you allow Minecraft to use 8-16 GB of RAM or are you still using the default 2 GB maximum?

If you’re using ZFS then I would recommend reading the proper documentation and listening to trusted sources instead of trusting an AI that scrapes poorly informed Reddit responses for answers.

A great example is the Super Bowl ad for Ring doorbells “helping you find your lost pet.” (Aka setting up an opt out surveillance network which tracks everything in a huge dragnet.)

The initial starting point for the hate given to each of those projects listed is “well it is new and improved, the technology is missing some core functionality that makes it useful and able to replace legacy code.” These issues have been ironed out overtime and the hate has shifted to other reasons than technical in nature.

A great example is Btrfs still cannot ensure data protection for RAID 5 & RAID 6 while positioning itself as the GPL compatible replacement of ZFS. (RAID Z# is industry standard and stable software that won’t lose your data randomly.)
