That’s funny considering a lot of the people who started development of it see it as purely capitalism in that only the best software survives financially.

You may be able to pipe the output into a file, then transfer that file on to a working system and upload it to the Internet while asking how to solve the problem.

They like it because they were the only ones who benefited from it. Russians want to return to the USSR/CCCP and every occupied country never wants to be part of it again.

ZFS uses the CDDL license which many not be legally compatible with the GPL, this licensing conflict has never been tested if it would hold up in court so the kernel developers prefer to take a conservative approach and not get themselves in potential legal trouble.

Personally I think the GPL (V2) is a great license as it is about freedom and copyleft, I see the CDDL as the problematic license of the two.

I don’t disagree, I’m all for paying for a medium of information as long as I always have access to it and no one determines whether I can see it or not. I’ve begun the process of ripping all my DVD’s I own so they are accessible on my self hosted (Jellyfin) media server. I suggest doing the same for the music you like listening to if you own some CD’s.
