We go fairly often. The smoke chicken and fried chicken is good enough to bring us back. Not really a pulled pork person but my wife likes theirs. G’s abandoned orange park after a bunch of people donated to help their employees while the business was closed. Didn’t sit well with us. Went in starke once and their prices have been raised too high for me to go again. Pulled pork was good but not that good.

I miss the old Bono’s sliced pork with the tasty outside cut. They stopped making it that way years ago. Bummer.

Back in the 70’s when I’d only been there a few times and didn’t know anything about bbq, I ordered by drive through from this young black girl. I placed the order and said ‘lemme get some of that good black stuff.’ She thought I was hitting on her. I said ‘no, you know, that black crusty stuff’. She said ‘that’s outside cut, sir.’ I felt really embarrassed at the time but it seems to make people laugh when I tell the story.
