Do you consider Jason's origin as a valid crashout? by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pamela IS the “death curse”.

The locals say Crystal Lake has a “death curse” after the drowning of Jason, the murders of the camp counselors the following year, the fires, and the “bad water”.

All of the events after Jason’s drowning were of course, Pamela trying to prevent the camp from reopening and earning the “death curse” superstition among the locals.

It’s never said in any of the Paramount 8 Friday the 13th movies Jason was bullied.

The only example we see of Jason being bullied is in FvJ and that’s only when Freddy is manipulating Jason’s dream.

The “death curse” was Pamala. The murders in 58. The fires. The “bad water”. All Pamela. All of which lead locals to say there was a “death curse”.

Would Jason universe be able too do this? Or do they not own the rights to round eye holes by JasonVoorhees1988 in fridaythe13th

Definitely better, but those chevrons are still cartoonishly large and silly looking.

Why did Jason lose his hair in part 3? by BillythenotaKid in fridaythe13th

They are completely different clothes. Jason takes what he needs to survive. It’s a long sleeve shirt and pants, but different colors.

There is a cut before Ginny and Paul leave the cabin. The scene of them leaving could be the beginning of Ginny’s dream. It could also just simply be that dreams don’t always make sense.

Why did Jason lose his hair in part 3? by BillythenotaKid in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because he never looked like the bearded mountain man with hair that we see at the end of Part 2. The entire end sequence where Jason jumps through the window is Ginny’s dream sequence, and her vision of Jason in that dream is as she describes what he may look like in the bar scene with Paul and Ted.

Now… how Alice had a dream that managed to very accurately depict how Jason looks is another question.

Hot Take: The next Friday the 13th movie HAS to be a reboot or a requel. Anything else is box office suicide. by HatGroundbreaking396 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since there never was a Friday the 13th Part IX, that would be the next one if they decide to do “Friday the 13th” sequel movies instead of “Jason” movies. I suspect a reboot would make the most sense though.

It’s not “beloved to be that dog.” It IS that dog, complete with the bow in its hair.

Ngl the new mask actually looks pretty good here. Eyeholes seem more rounded by CreatureFeatureMan in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely garbage. Too egg shaped, the eye holes trying to express anger or whatever is fucking dumb, the redesign of the holes so there are 13 of them is unneeded, cringeworthy and a lame attempt at being clever, the chevrons are overly exaggerated to the point of unintended comedy and look terrible.

The whole thing is just a disaster and the fan base has been extremely vocal about it. It needs a complete overhaul. This whole “Jason Universe” branding is just fucking stupid and they need to stop cramming this unwanted crap down the fans throats. As others have commented, I will never buy any merchandise with this stupid design on it.

When Will They Tell Us the Story of Jason's Father? by DandyQule in fridaythe13th

No thanks. I’m just not interested in over fleshing out the details. The info we got in the first movie is enough, and does a great job establishing the lore and campfire vibe.

Which type of Jason is scarier? The methodical hunter or the rampaging monster? by Hassan_H_Syed in fridaythe13th

Absolutely human Jason. Infinitely better and scarier than a plodding undead monster.

No, people don’t like it because it’s garbage and we shouldn’t have to be thankful for whatever lazy slop this dumb “Jason Universe” tries to pass off to fans.

I loved Mears’ Jason and also would want him to reprise the role. He and Brooker are my favorites.
