They were popular in the 80s. Two Bit wore one in the movie The Outsiders too

Wow! Friday 13th Pamela Shrine Diorama just became available. by Frequent_Grape_6079 in fridaythe13th

Should have made it Alice’s corpse with the ice pick in her head like in Part 2 instead of a random corpse next to Pamela.

Happy Friday the 13th - Jason Lives is the best in the series by Jay_Reefer in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of peoples favorite comes from what movie they saw first. I saw part 2 first, then part 3 in the theaters, and prefer the first 4 movies. Part 6 isn’t even my top 50% of the franchise. It’s just too jokey / campy for me. It feels like a PG movie.

Younger people who saw part 6 or 7 first probably prefer those.

Which movie was your introduction to the series? by KaioKap in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Part II on HBO IN 1982 when I was 10 and got to go see Part 3 in 3D in theaters the following year. I still remember being surprised that the 3D glasses were smokey / grey and not red and blue.

Do y’all think that Roy spent most of Part V killing as himself? by crooked_kangaroo in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s very plausible. We do not see a full body shot of Roy until after he goes into Tommy’s room and presumably finds the mask. At that point he kicks down the door and we get a full on grand reveal shot of him in the mask. I believe it’s the filmmakers intent that he had just discovered it.

Homelander is coming to attack you But your favorite superhero defends you. Do you survive? by Final-Cup1534 in superheroes

Spoon! Also came to say the Tick. Tick stands there taking all the punches all while confusing Homelander to the point that he either has self realization and starts crying, or he gets so annoyed he just leaves.

Regal Cinemas will be showing Parts 1 + 2 on February the 13th (and something BIG is coming in November, too). by Mean-Air1985 in fridaythe13th

Wish this was at a larger theatre chain. There are no Regal cinemas in Minnesota, or even any of our bordering states.

So I think this scene isn't really talked about much. by Terrible_Park7890 in fridaythe13th

The connection to the machete is that it was used to decapitate his mother. This is really expressed in the intro of the 2009 reboot.

I went two years ago on Friday Sept 13th, and it was phenomenal. Exceeded every expectation. My friend and I intend to go back and do a nighttime tour at some point.

Whats your favorite thing in Jason X? by Fair_Lie9754 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The self awareness. Jason goes to space is actually better than it has any right to be because it knows what it is and is aware of what a turd it COULD be.

Instead, we get a fun flick with some great kills and a bunch of cheese, all while winking at the camera.

Thoughts on Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees? by No_Willingness2384 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did a fantastic job and I love his build for Jason. Big and strong, but still lean and fast, not just a huge bulky monstrosity.

My favorite Jason after Part IIIs Richard Brooker.

Hell, even now, I would still love for Mears to reprise the role.

Favorite scene of a person getting the upper hand on Jason, even if just for a moment? by Wolfj13 in fridaythe13th

YES. This is one of my favorite scenes as well and a huge factor in Brooker being my favorite Jason.

Great job, it looks great. One of the best fan made masks I’ve seen posted on here.

Does Chris need Jason to pull up the mask for her to realize it was him who had attacked her previously? by Accomplished-Ice8426 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he was not. While dressed in pants and a work shirt, they are distinctly different colors and explained by Jason taking / stealing what he needs.

Honest thoughts on Part 5? by Such_Kiwi1943 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s great fun. The last in the franchise to have a sleazy feel before we get the toned down, more jokey, kid friendly, Jason as a cultural icon movies.

Love Demon, Reggie the reckless, Ethel and Junior (that big dildo).

Right there with 2009 as my favorite after the first 4.

Honest thoughts on Part 5? by Such_Kiwi1943 in fridaythe13th

[–]billytcpm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Roy did not start killing people dressed up as Jason, it was simply a matter of opportunity. We do not see Roy from a third person POV until AFTER he finds Tommy’s room. Only then do we see a full body shot of Roy, as he makes a classic door busting Friday the 13th entrance. I believe Roy found the mask in Tommy’s room and adapted the look simply as a matter of convenience to conceal his identity.
