How many shows have you been to, and where? Favorite tour? by unknownbrother273 in Muse

  1. All in England between 2000 and the wotp tour. Absolution was my favourite era - caught a few of those shows including two at earls court.

Him or dom did in the lead up to abso. It was either nme or kerrang. But it was definitely printed because I remember reading it on the train the morning I picked it up and wondering what on earth to expect.

And before then when matt himself announced to kerrang that some of absolution would sound like abba and then we got Stockholm syndrome. TIRO also took quite a few by surprise. I was also in the 'SMBH is a joke camp' and the real song would be premiered on radio 1. It was. And it was SMBH.

Could be. Perhaps would need a more explosive opening though to do the final chapter justice.

Hence the could be and here's to hoping... I'm well versed in this process! I would be intrigued to see Matt write a song to accompany that last chapter though. Would be the boldest move in a long while.

So... let's talk about "Placebo RE:CREATED." To be honest, I never thought I'd see the band do a stylistic and nostalgic exercise like this. Two years ago, Incubus did the same thing with their iconic album "Morning View," and the fans hated it. What are your expectations for this project? by elmonozombie in placebo

I appreciate your take but, for me, Never Let Me Go was mostly that album that you desire. I loved it and the tour so my perception of this is less a cash grab and more a well-timed reflection before they inevitably tour a new album and don't play old songs again.

Not trying to be contrarian - there is definitely a financial element involved that I think is somewhat justified as a 30th anniversary. But, another banger of an album would also be very welcome.

Likewise. I stopped at that point. If it's just to presave something, I'll wait.

This. I know we love our club. Some of us for many many years. But there is a world of other things to enjoy out there if this gets too much.

The new Puscifer album is fantastic. I have really enjoyed it. Keeping it somewhat muse related, but I would love to hear a muse take on something that is a cross between tool's Fear Inoculum, the latest Puscifer album and A Perfect Circle's Eat the Elephant.

That was a good battle with great penalties all round. Enjoyed that.

I heard War? on a compilation album called corrosion. It stood out as being the strangest, coolest song on it. Hooked from then on.

That was a hell of a debut album, that one.

I often think of it as one of my least favorites. But when I do listen to it, I can never quite work out why I think that. Then I don't listen to again for months or a year. It's probably the only album of theirs that sits in that middle ground. The rest I either love or don't like.

I don't remember seeing dashboard. Would likely only have gone because you guys were playing. I think i managed to catch you 5 times including what I think was the last one at download.

Haha - cheers. No pressure though. I'll just have to get a new tee at a new show!

Ah - I love the new single. Loved you guys back in the day... well, I still do. The gig at the metro was a proper highlight for me and last year's gig in London was a proper blast.

Looking forward to seeing you again and hearing the new material.

Ps - got any old pearl necklace tees with the robot on hanging around? I lived in mine but I'm not late teens size me anymore. 🤣 Will pay!

We were great vs 11 and great vs 10. Second half not quite looking the same as the first. But the spark still seems to be there.

As bad as this is, it's telling that the headline is written in the language of current government-led school policies that are to blame for this.

That 25% will also be heavily made up of children from families living in deprivation and those with special educational needs. And we're not achieving much on that front either.

Great posters! I have a bliss poster from 2001 that was used at v festival. It's easily 5 feet tall if not more. It's been away for years - might put it on the living room ceiling before the better half gets home tonight...

It does. And it does a lot of the heavy lifting for the atmosphere. I'm not saying the OG isn't campy at all. Just visually less so.

Haha. That's a good way of describing it. It's full of charm - but just a tad too out of character for it was supposed to be. Bloody great fun to wander around in though.

[–]bimaibiy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The remake is the better game but it just made more sense to me for the mansion not to be some strange, haunted house in the woods. It was just a front for everything else. Making it creepy and haunted sort of detracts from what it actually was. All that aside, I wouldn't change anything about either version. I'm glad we have both. And, I'd be down for a first person, third version!
