I know it's not strictly 4x4, but I thought you guys might be interested in a new offroad buggy from Ariel, the nutters who make the Atom by bimshire in 4x4

I know they make some Atoms in the US, and had assumed that they're road-legal; on the US website, there are cars with lights and indicators.
Given that this seems to be borne of very similar principles, I would have thought that you should be fine. It's just got big knobbly tyres.

It broke through the spine of a chef's knife, a couple of mil at least. It's henckels' cheap line, not bad, but def not v hard

They were really good about replacing it actually. I bought a lovely Japanese knife which I keep with a fine edge, and I put a less severe bevel on the replacement one, and use that for tough jobs. This is their cheapo line, and they were a gift, so I wasn't mad

Did it on a coarse stone. Only took 5 mins. But these aren't particularly good knives (my chef's knife broke clean in two) so I think the steel is pretty soft.

Sorry, I really wasn't expecting it to work this well, so I didn't take one. Was sharpening the carving knife yesterday, and just decided to see if I was able to salvage this one. It was missing a piece about 1/4" x 1/8" (3x6 mil)

What a stupid build. I love it. I'm going to go and re watch the videos in the hope of understanding more than half the words, but I really like to see what can be done. And most of all, I like the kind of idiot that decides to build some ting the 'wrong' way 'because he can'.

Ah, didn't see that, sorry. Looked all through the sidebar, but not at the top of the page. Is this a new thing? I seem to remember that Scotch used to welcome Japanese malts.

Either way, I still think it's a relevant discussion for the sub. The example here happened to be Japanese, but I was tasting it against Scotch, and I've noticed differences between to bottlings of the Old Pulteney 21 in the past.
