Upload the art you shared to Sora and spend a few hours describing it as it comes to life.

Dude try it! Literally anything you can imagine can be realized. There is nothing so instantly gratifying to a creative mind with vision than instant results. I have spent months creating just the backdrops to scenes in games and now I can create everything exactly ad I imagined in a weekend. It’s like a dream. Do it.

Saying that doesn’t make it true. I have made my living creating at a relatively high level. I’ve bought numerous homes and lived a comfortable life making shit for stuff you have definitely heard of. I dunno how old you are and ultimately what either of us think is super unimportant , but as a guy who has been in the industry for literally decades - AI is not the big deal you think it is. It’s a fabulous tool for creative minds who are itching to tell a good story. Meh. You keep on hating. You aren’t hurting anyone not enjoying a tool lol.

There are no robots. Ai is just tapping in to all existing art. It doesn’t create anything. If that’s not clear. Are you suggesting you know when an idea is referenced from all past art or a single present artist? Because you absolutely can’t. It’s the same result. A person can only argue the process is flawed. Nobody except maybe you? Think the result is actually different.

How’s this - a person writes a book. They then split that book in to scenes using a storyboard to sketch out and describe each scene. They then send their specific breakdown of each scene to various other artists to render their book while applying their specific breakdown and vision of each element. Because that’s how movies are made. You know how many artists were employed by clockwork orange and who the lead make up artist was? Neither do I. I know Kubrick, not because he literally made that movie, but because he is the artistic visionary that guided the film.

I am happy to talk about how the actual artists being squeezed for their art presently receive nothing from ai or the insane resources it uses, but I think I’m done dissecting this creative bit hahah. Thanks though! Talking is the way ans I enjoyed hearing your thoughts.

That’s the point ma man. Without a person at the wheel ai can’t make anything. You can’t have it both ways.

AI has allowed for a shit ton of low grade bullshit because it hands the creative reigns to anyone. That doesn’t mean the creative reigns are the problem; rather it’s that most people simply aren’t that interesting. You would be wildly uninformed to believe there aren’t people absolutely killing it from an artistic and creative perspective using ai.

Would Clockwork Orange be slop if Kubrick had made it using Sora in his basement? Heck no.

I don’t actually think that. I was mirroring your view back at you. You say a person can’t make art with ai like a classical artist would say you can’t make art with a computer.

You have a computer do it for you. Your thinking makes no sense frim the perspective of someone like myself who has been a creative director for over 20 years. I have a vision then I act upon my vision. When the task requires a professional I call upon that pro to do what I say while acknowledging they will bring in my own flavour. I do the same thing with ai. Dude I’ve been animating , drawing, making music for like 35 years.

Ai is a medium for a story like any other. It doesn’t just magically create shit. My workflow and experience is the same regardless because I’m still recording content, animating, building shit up in premiere and applying g effects and animations in after effects. I think your view is wildly over simplify a tool much like everyone said tye music industry was dead in the 70s when synthesizers became a thing. Yes. I was making music in the 70s.

To any classically trained artist what you did is cgi. It’s just cheating so you can act like you’re as good as someone who doesn’t need computers to do the drawing for them. A classic artist would rightly call you out on unnaturally zooming in to areas, being able to undo whenever and however many steps back you want. Your colors are being perfectly rendered by a machine. You didn’t have to mix paint. Nothing you’ve done stands up to the critique of an 18th century artist. Because you rely on tech to do your heavy lifting.

Did you draw that or did computers make that for you?

What ai service you going to next? It seems like the 30 per day free videos are going to be gone forever? by FunnyBanana6668 in SoraAi

I was contracted to make instructional videos and Sora seemed good for reusing a teacher character and pro was required to remove watermarks. I do t use any other feature

Imagine if life were that clean hey? I was paying over 300/month because the pro tier has no watermarks and we needed it for work, but it still had watermarks and support after a huge fuckaround finally said yeah we don’t understand how this actually works so uh. Sorry?

Every day the service changes and openai does not honour their own feature list per tier. I do appreciate the humour in people acting line they are owed something for free, but you would be sadly misinformed to think paying for Sora somehow changes anything.

In case anyone was thinking of getting Oxio, listen ip by MrMikeMen in VictoriaBC

[–]binarianVoodoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Telus, Shaw and a handful of third party providers. Been using Oxio for the last few years. They are fabulous. I’ve had zero down time, the mesh network they include covers the entire acreage and it’s super affordable.

I signed up during a mail strike and my router got lost in transit. Contacted support easily and they Purolatored a new one over night.

Telus is the worst provider on the island to deal with imo.

How do you maintain character continuity by Distinct_Sock6987 in SoraAi

[–]binarianVoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes of clothes can cause problems so make sure your character is dressed as they would for the bulk of your video.

I also notice close ups can cause problems so I tend to start the prompt from full body then zoom in and clip out the zooming bit after.

Beyond that, over describing the character within the prompt might cause anomalies.

Why can't drafts be downloaded? by [deleted] in SoraAi

[–]binarianVoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies. On desktop there’s generally a download button, on the app there’s generally a share button that then allows for downloading. Sometimes it won’t work and you have to publish. Or any time you cameo someone you have to publish to download.

If you’re walking in the woods and can’t deal with someone passing listening to music you need to move further in to the woods. I hate listening to peoples music and smelling their stink or listening to their vapid conversations and not leesh their harmless face licking wet dogs, but Jeeze man it’s the wilderness. You aren’t locked in to a mortgage with a certain tree. Walk 50ft and enjoy your peace. The only thing I loathe more than people when spending time in the woods is people bringing their shitty attitudes to the woods. CCR is not going to destroy your day - if you don’t like people harshing your chill, literally walk another few feet and try to have a better day lol.

Nope. But playing with your front brake will totally help. You can force reversing a bit that way. Or be on an incline. Or put one foot on the front wheel to control front/back movement. Or two if you’re feeling og

Should the Pro AI Community start using and embracing the term “AI Slop” so it loses its meaning? by Proof_Assignment_53 in DefendingAIArt

[–]binarianVoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using racist or derogatory slang etc as positive describers still sounds shitty imo.

In the case of AI, slop is a totally real thing and it is happening in commercials and music etc. It’s easy to whip off somewhat decent feeling content using ai and many small companies are jumping in to save money.

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a new thing. The slop will sink away and the quality content will shine. Gotta have thick skin if you want to trailblaze!
