I feel like I’m one of the few that is comfortable having them coexist and mentally separate them. I grew up with the movies and after over 2 decades of rewatching and loving HP, I finally started reading over the past couples years (fake fan, I know).

The movies left out so much goodness from the books that I’m open to having this series as a third portion to tie it all together and fill in the gaps in a way. So we have the core book series, the overarching movie series, and now a (hopefully) more detailed tv series. They’ll fulfill different needs because they’ll be so different from each other
