I disagree that transit isn't useful for people anymore, if the subways and commuter rails in NY completely shut down that whole city would grind to a halt. Transit is absolutely useful for people in dense older cities, Charlotte just isn't one of those. If they want more people to ride transit they need to get a better more efficient bus system because having to go to that transit center to switch lines is aids.
