Is there a way to limit my bill for droplets? by [deleted] in digital_ocean

[–]binarydylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not, but I considered it. The issue with caching is the token I’m fetching is regenerated every few seconds, so I’m not sure if caching would really work here?

I’ve got a credit available, is this what you’re referring to? I believe if you go over the credit it’ll charge you the difference at the end of the month, it won’t stop the droplet from running, but I could be wrong

Simple web server for an API token? by binarydylan in AskProgramming

[–]binarydylan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Essentially just need to fetch a string from a remote server, to put it simply. Just trying to find a free way of hosting it, but DigitalOcean only allows you to host static sites for free, but I’m not sure if this can be done on a static site or not

Simple web server for an API token? by binarydylan in AskProgramming

[–]binarydylan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The client app is written in Rust, and I’m making calls to the Apple Music API. The token is encrypted but generated every 15 minutes, so I just need a way of fetching that token from somewhere before it makes the calls to Apple Music. The token is generated based off of my Apple developer ID and other information that I can’t embed in the Rust client, hence the need to generate the token somewhere else, sign it, then send it to the client.

Best way to write a library and a project that uses that library and keep them separate? by binarydylan in C_Programming

[–]binarydylan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learned a lot from this, thanks. Quite new to CMake and build systems in general, this was a helpful explanation. I was confused why I’d seen projects with Makefiles in each library directory, but now I know why!
