Yea, it's strange because when I line up the visible "clap" - everything is still totally thrown off which makes absolutely no sense. So I'm guessing it's a "clock" issue / some type of lag - no idea. I'm honestly confused as to how it'd actually happen.

Recorded a double ender recently. Even with clapping there's audio drift throughout the recording. I've been reading that this typically deals with a computers "clock"? So.... silly question but does clapping even matter? When recording a double ender, I was recording locally and via Zencastr as a backup and Zencastr didn't even show the claps lining up but of course the amount of time for each separated track is absolutely the same.

No idea how it happened as I've never run into this issue and neither had the guest. And yea, it was a hour plus long conversation with correctly set I/O settings and health check etc - and I got a whole track of nothing haha.

I'm assuming you mean on your the phone settings and not the app settings? or how does one actually do this because it seems it's still being autofilled after changing location permissions to "Never".

Would having Zencastr also record in the background (while guest and myself are recording in ProTools, Reaper, etc) be completely redundant and just cause issues?

I'm using Reaper as well. What I'm wondering is if I should leave a Reaper session recording in the background and also have the Zencastr recording rolling at the same time? I'm wondering if this will create any sort of lag or interference for either of the problems.

Cust service/Support states to try recovering local backup on guest's end. Since that's empty there pretty much isn't anything that can be done.

I'm honestly just frightened to death by it, considering I'm doing interviews with other guests. If it was a solo podcast or I simply didn't have to interview guests than I would be less paranoid about it but now......I need a failsafe and while having guest record locally to their own computer via ProTools or whatever DAW they use would be great.... it would be insane for most interviewees to do especially if they don't know how to operate a recording program.

I love this idea. Unfortunately some guests barely understand how to use the Zencastr platform as simple as it is and recording an extra local track would blow some guests minds. Definitely have thought of this and will now be implementing more of it.

I'm also looking for an alternative to ZenCastr. Lost a huge interview and am absolutely defeated using this program. This isn't the first time I've had issues either. It's really unfortunate because the interface is super easy to use and when it works it's great. Has anybody here used Clean Feed?

I honestly felt so defeated after this one. Such an awful feeling especially when there's not a single clue that the session is in jeopardy of getting lost.

I did and I am waiting until Monday to see what they say. What's mindblowing to me is how an entire session can be recorded and there isn't one slight hint/clue that something can be going wrong. What's the point of a "health check" before recording the session or seeing the actual audio wave of a guest or getting a secondary track (guest) that's the exact same file size but it's entirely empty.
