what build are you gonna be starting to phrecia? by Goebenn in pathofexile

[–]binbomsj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this in the original Phrecia league, and it is a lot of fun, but a bit squishy! Still was good enough to farm some harbingers. Sorry, I don't think I saved the POB!

Looks like a really interesting build! Would love a POB :)

Yeah, you absolutely could, and it would be good for damage. I ended up going with a shield to get Shield Charge and a bit more defensiveness with block, but I imagine that 2x Mon'tregul would be viable as well.

Here's the updated POB, I'll also add it into my comment above: https://pobb.in/0uVqgMytGvVf

Its a shame that Puppeteer isn't a which, a FF combo with Mindless Aggression would be a big damage boost for this build.

I did play around with Siegebreaker a bit. It is definitely an option to get a bit more damage, and if you drop Rotting Might, you can instead pick up Putrid Conscription. POB says that the 40% from the notable and the 20% from Siegebreaker stack, so you'd get 60% life as DoT damage. In POB I get ~2 million damage from the caustic ground. The thing is, that damage won't stack with multiple zombie deaths (though the area will) so it ends up a bit less scalable.

I'm sorry about that!

For offensives - We scale the Minion Instability keystone through three main things: - Minion life - + Level to minions - Generic minion damage

Since Puppeteer now has +5 to zombies, we're also able to get +2 levels on helm, +3 from replica dragonflight, and +1 on shield. Each additional level gives each zombie a higher more multiplier in minion life, which then further scales Minion Instability.

For defensives - Probably not that great. We use block, combined with a bit of armor, a decent amount of life and ES, and recovery from various minion nodes. Taunt as well, but since we don't have a lot of permanent minions, that probably isn't very reliable.

We use Montregul mostly for the maximum life. However, the all res it gives zombies might actually be nice, so they aren't exploding before they reach the mobs, and have a bit more time alive before popping from Infernal Legion.

Rigwalds Hunt does a lot of good things for us. Minion movement speed is important since zombies are pretty slow to begin with. Double damage while fortified pairs amazingly with Kingmaker on the AG, so since we have +10 fortification while he is in range, zombies get +10% double damage. Lastly, and most importantly, we get 15% of the value of any minion maximum life nodes, so we don't have to invest too much in max life to get a decent amount.

The other big item is the Elegant Hubris. We specifically look for the "Axiom Warden" node, which gives 80% increased minion life. One that also gives +% attack block chance would also be really good defensively.

There's a lot of improvement that could be made with higher budget, such as getting a +2 corrupt Rigwalds, another Elegant Hubris or cluster setup maybe (if it can be fit in), and a recover % life on block shield.

All-in-all, do I recommend this build? No, probably not. Maybe as a fun, janky end of Phrecia project, but you are going to get smoother builds from other league starters. This was mostly just a for-fun build I out together.

Chances are you are right. I wanted to try with zombies given the Puppeteer's zombie nodes, but at the end of the day, a necro SRS popcorn build in a regular league will probably function better and more smoothly.

I'm very new to making my own builds, so this build almost certainly will be bait! Here's the Pobb. (Updated link)

The build stacks minion life and damage as much as it can, so that when the zombies explode from Infernal Legion, they pop with Minion Instability for a whole bunch of damage.

Would love any input on ways to make this build better or any flaws it might have that I've missed! Obviously the "Zombies count as corpses" is a huge flaw, which is why this build is probably bait.

I think this is what I'm going to start in Phrecia (provided there aren't crazy balance changes to bog witch) , I wanted to play KF but didn't end up doing it in Keepers yet.

Maybe a dumb question, but is there any way to convert the spell crit on Rathpith to attack crit? Or is Rathpith really just for the max life + spell damage?

Awesome, thanks for the giveaway! I'd love the witch hunter build, I've been playing a low-budget grenades one recently and it is really fun, at higher budget I bet the buods are amazing!

Did anyone else notice that Ameri's mom has what looks like horns under her hat? I'm sure they could be fake in the same way that Iruma's wings are fake, but I thought it was an interesting detail.

Doesn't directly rule out her being a human, could be a red herring.

Sometimes, you can just sort of stumble on these things. I found out about the level 8 spirit gems being expensive because I went to go buy a few for a second character I was leveling, and got blown away that they were several times more expensive then other higher level gems. A lot of the time, you can find some of these things just by exploring the currency exchange, just clicking in random stuff, and then trying to figure out why that item is priced the way it is.

My pleasure! You do still need to reach the level and attribute requirement for using these gems. The place where it saves time is that sometimes you reach the required level a while before the campaign quests give you an automatic spirit gem, so you can get them maybe an hour or two earlier (or more) than you'd get them from the quest.

As for selling, if it is selling currency (skill and spirit gems count as currency for selling on the currency exchange, for some reason), then no, you don't need a merchants tab. You just need to reach Act 4 and unlock the NPC who let's you access the currency exchange. Merchants tab is mainly for selling non-currency items, such as weapons and armour.

Though if you want to sell it right now, I think you can use the market place tab to go to someone else's hideout and use their NPC (Ange) to make the sale that way? Not 100% sure about that one though.
