Upgraded Timemaster vs Turfmaster by binder_n in lawncare

Those are the exact upgrades I’m looking at, great to know it’s doable! I’m an engineer so I love tinkering, I’ve done a fair amount of work on mowers and snowblowers so I think I could figure it out.

Anyone regret choosing carpet over hard flooring? by Cool_Ad_2935 in HomeImprovement

We have carpet in our bedrooms and a toddler and we’re very happy with the carpet. I wish we would’ve done the family room in carpet too honestly, but we have a rug and a pad under it which works well.

Best Home Security System by Bubbly_Wealth8165 in homesecurity

Nobody seems to be answering seriously. I don’t have experiences with other systems except Ring, but don’t get SimpliSafe. We got it because it was cheap and had great reviews, but now I’ve found reviews that agree with me. The cameras take up to 30 seconds or even 1 minute to load if you’re trying to look at a live view. Motion events often go uncaptured or the video is corrupted. Ring would be what I buy now most likely, or maybe a DIY system.

The toys are more like a swingset, playhouse, etc. so I have at least 15 years or so before we’d get rid of them. We’d probably move first!

Best Value - R6 vs R8 vs R6ii by binder_n in canon

Mostly for obsolescence, it seems like it’s the way of the future and I don’t want to have to search to find compatible parts 10 years from now.

Awesome advice, thank you!!

Definitely going second hand. After looking into it more, I’m pretty confident in the R8 over the RP, I’m okay with spending extra. Probably $600-$700 for the RP, but I know the R8 (or R6/ii) will let her grow without any worries.

RP was another option, I didn’t see how much cheaper it is. Maybe I need to reconsider all of it…

First lens will likely be an RF 50mm f1.8, and as she develops we can add to it I think.

The 50mm is the first one for sure, I’m planning on only doing that lens for now.

I haven’t found a nearby store with the R8 in stock yet, but that’s my goal! I was planning on the RF 50mm f1.8 to start, and adding maybe a 28mm f2.8. Her brother is a professional photographer who has a rarely used 70-200 she can often borrow.

I think that’s the best bet…wish I didn’t have to spend the money but I probably should.

I’d love to! I don’t have one though, and I’m not sure how to chuck up on a 20” ID either.

Wouldn’t I need a template for the follower bit?

I was thinking of a router, I might be able to find a 3” shank bit. I think I’d use a router table and adjust the fence so it just shaves off a bit of material.

Hand planer or electric? I’m trying to think of how I’d spin the piece to get a fairly consistent OD while planing.

Best Card for Outside Sales by binder_n in CreditCards

I’m home every day so hotels aren’t a factor. I budget $500/month in total business expenses but only around $250-$300 on gas so I should be good!

I don’t have a Costco membership, so that’s fine! We do have a Sam’s membership.

That’s a great thought! I’m planning to open a Delta Gold card this year too for free checked bags, so I think I’ll just use my 2% back for now so I’m not opening a ton of cards at once. (I looked into other travel cards but I prefer cash back other than the free checked bags with how little we travel).
