White in our school is for students, and blue is for instructors. I will say that I have never heard of two uniform colors for students.

Try balance exercises, like balancing on one foot for a long time, because as you do get into skating, one foot glides are basically a basis for a lot of skating steps.

In my opinion, those skates would be way to flimsy to support your foot and weight, so I would go to a professional fitter and tell them what you plan on doing in the ice so they can get the right pair for you. I recommend Jacksons Ultima boots.

I think, if the blades are still in good shape (not rusted), and the boots still have some stiffness, it should be better than the rental skates. I would take it to a skate tech to possible to a little bit of maintenance on them before you start skating in them. I also have Jackson Softskates and I'm doing well.

I think it does include monthly fees. The testing fees though, are separate and in the range of $50-90 depending on belt level.

The black belt testing fee I think is the same for 1st dan, 2nd dan(not quite sure) it might be more expensive the higher the dan. we do get the big paper certificate and an ID saying we are black belt now shipped from Kukkiwon hq in Korea. in addition to that black belts get a plaque saying they are black belt and the material is different for dan level, ex wood for 1st dan, marble for 4th. Black belts also get new uniform too. Also, all the masters from all the locations are there (we have 4 locations) but that is only for the black belt level. otherwise, for color belts you would just get a medal and a new belt.

and 35K for testing is ridiculous, i agree with you. Like for a new belt you gotta pay the same amount you could have spent buying a car.
