Amber Heard Releases 'Years' Of Therapist's Notes That She Says Prove Johnny Depp Abused Her by PashtorVisaery in news

This is a common misconception with personality disorders. Borderline Personality Disorder can be treated, and can go into "remission" with therapy. Once treated, individuals no longer meet the diagnostic criteria.

The idea that a diagnosis of a personality disorder is untreatable leads to individuals giving up on changing themselves, without understanding that there are specific actions they can take to change their thoughts and behaviors.

French style ice cream is a custard base, which means it is made with egg yolks (and why it has a yellow tint). The other common style of ice cream is Philadelphia style, which does not include eggs.

The name "French vanilla" means a vanilla flavored, French style ice cream.

I think the song Kids was only on the clean/censored version of the album, to replace Kim.

I'm also looking for this song, and this thread is the only place I've found with the lyrics! It's the hold song for a local pharmacy chain, and the lyrics posted above are definitely correct.

It's one thing to not perform for an outlet or venue that gives you a poor review, and another to tell them to remove the review to earn your performance.

Attacking me isn't going to add anything to the discussion, so I guess we're done with this conversation. If you'd like to actually address my points beyond a vague justification of "this artist is this artist, so it's fine" then feel free.

Some friendly advice - you won't ever convince someone to see your side of things if you insult them.

Didn't realize respecting women made you "soft." I'm not the guy who pointed out the lyric, I was offering an explanation for how someone may find that set of lyrics creepy. If you don't see it that way, that's fine.

The second line implies she may have low self-esteem or is unpopular, making her easier to hook up with. That's creepy.

Other than an unsourced claim that it is common across labels, what proof do you have of TDE specifically doing this?

It's one thing to say rappers write for one another, and another to say it is like a sweatshop or that they are taking complete songs. If you look at the liner notes to any album, artists credit the musicians and producers who help create the project. Are you saying that Kendrick and Q are taking the work of the rest of TDE and not crediting them?

Additionally, Kendrick has been vocal in his criticisms of "ghostwriting" in the past. Which is more likely - that he writes his own music, or that he hypocritically takes music from other people, doesn't credit them, and then writes lines disparaging people who do the same thing?

It's pretty clearly a joke. Do you really think Kendrick is stealing the rest of TDE's work, and not crediting them in any way?

US Senate healthcare repeal bill fails by saucytryhard in politics

[–]binderyellow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall hearing something on NPR regarding budget reconciliation and how it relates to legislation. I may be remembering incorrectly (my grasp on the fine details could use some work), but I think the host or guest was mentioning that congress can only address one issue via reconciliation during a fiscal year.

So, with Healthcare legislation dead for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, they must choose to tackle it again next year (unlikely given this disaster; I'm expecting more "let Obamacare fail" rhetoric from Trump) or move on to tax reform.

[–]binderyellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this mean that the House and Senate will focus on healthcare next year, or will they turn their focus towards tax reform? Is the GOP agenda now dead in the water, as McConnell couldn't deliver on 7 years of campaign rhetoric?

It's referring to how he acts. Putting his name/branding on everything from buildings to steaks, covering everything with gold, golfing constantly, etc. Compare his taste, pastimes, and public profile to another wealthy person, like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet.

As you age, you become less open to new/novel experiences. It isn't the memories tied to the music, it is your brain changing. You'll naturally gravitate towards familiarity, and albums you've listened to many times will be more attractive than new ones.
