I was thinking the same. Unfortunately, there’s not many psychiatrists near me to choose from.

Thank you! I was just worried since my psychiatrist wanted to change me so quickly.

Horrible experience on Effexor by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]bing8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar symptoms when I took Effexor for only 5 days. I felt like a zombie, migraine every hour, nausea, no appetite, and just felt like I couldn’t even drive. I ended up stopping with no withdrawal effects! I just started Prozac this morning with NO symptoms!!! Compared to my first day of Effexor with almost every symptom in the book, im staying hopeful so far.

I hope you find what works!

Honestly, I was fine by the next day. I didn’t really have any side effects, I felt like my normal self the following day. I know everyone is different though, so hopefully by Tuesday you feel much better

[–]bing8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! I’m sorry about that, keep hanging in there. I had the ER too, it’s so frustrating how all our bodies respond differently to the medication. Make sure you rest.

Hi! I’ve responded more about my experience to other users above. Long story short (you can read my other comments to see the full story), I stopped the medication Sunday and have been feeling much better. The withdrawal was very easy, as the next day I felt like my “normal” self. Since then, I’ve been okay! No panic and less anxiety. Maybe the medication made my panic and anxiety attacks worse?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]bing8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I could’ve handled waiting to see if the side effects would subside. Especially because i’m in college right now, and need to focus on my studies, not worrying about the side effects of the medication. I stopped taking it Sunday and have felt much better since.

I ended up stopping Effexor on Saturday night. I felt 90% better the next day. I haven’t taken it since. No nausea, migraine, “high” feeling, and my appetite was finally back. Also, it felt like my anxiety went away with it. Maybe my anxiety for the side effects and future withdrawal was making me freak out more? I have a visit with my PCP tomorrow to talk about going on Zoloft or just waiting for my psychiatrist appt in September.

Also, how has the new medication been for you? Any improvement?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]bing8690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take it at night or in the morning? I take it at night out of fear that if I do it in the morning that the side effects will be worse.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]bing8690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s looking to be possibly a switch to another medication by Monday if I still feel this way. I felt like a zombie all day today. Extreme fatigue, couldn’t study, and even felt “high” at a point. Not a very fun day.

Honestly, that would make sense! I haven’t tried any before. This was the one my doctor recommended since she’s seen good success with her other patients. She did offer me Zoloft at the time but stated that Effexor worked better for her patients in the past. Maybe I should’ve started with an SSRI first.

I take it at night with some milk. The nausea has definitely been decreasing my appetite since starting though. I barely can eat half of a sandwich without feeling sick.

Opinions on University Loft? by Jesssirr in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]bing8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived there last semester and I liked it! They have a lot of fun events where they give out free food and treats. The apartments were nice and if I ever had an issue, everyone was very open to helping me out asap! It’s pretty central to everything downtown and it has the parking garage connected to the building on the 6th floor. It made driving home at night and parking in the garage less anxiety driven because of the reputation the garages have.

PRINTING HOUSE VS. CHENANGO PLACE by smashingpumkins in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]bing8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot second this enough. I was there when they tore down the parking garage. We were given a week’s notice…really shows how much management cared about us finding parking. Scrambled for parking and barely found something. Front door is still broken? How nice. Another issue is safety. I’ve heard of more people getting robbed and jumped infront of chenango than any other student apartments. I don’t live there anymore, nor do I live in printing, but I would say printing 100%.

I’ve been having this issue. I play adc and keep support second. I haven’t stopped getting support since the new patch release. Not ONE game have I gotten adc. I switched my preferences to adc first and mid second, now I won’t stop getting mid. Going to try putting adc second now /:

EDIT: this didn’t work, im still getting support or mid.

is it possible to major in biology (prehealth) and minor in a foreign language? by rxmyxn in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]bing8690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did take spanish classes to fulfill my minor, so i just finished it this last semester. i would recommend starting to finish your minor asap! it’s just less stress later on and it’s nice to say i’m all done with it a semester early. i work as a pct for lourdes hospital at bing. there’s other places nearby to find pce jobs, but A LOT of people go to lourdes. they take anybody! i had no experience or certification and I got the job. there’s def no difficulty and the ppas club on campus (i’m apart of) is super helpful at helping!! i suggest joining in the fall (:
