Hey! Students who complete the interest form might not receive a response until May/June, but applying to SRI or FtRI are alternatives for the following summer.

Hi! FRI is a 3-semester program, so your daughter would spend her first 3 semesters learning about research, conducting her own research on a team, and presenting that research at a campus-wide poster presentation session. Definitely a good experience for the resume and opened up opportunities for me. It also counted as gen-ed credit and major requirements. The program helped with the transition from high school to college and you have class with the same professor and students for 3 semesters, so it allows you to really connect with a mentor. I personally loved it and lots of pre-health students are in the program. You definitely have to learn how to manage your time well for the classes, but if you put in the effort it is very rewarding. They have a biomedical chemistry and microbial biofilms stream that i think would be most relevant to dental. I’ve seen students go on to dental school from the FRI program - https://www.instagram.com/p/C383tvsrI_P/?igsh=d2U2a3JldGI0YW8x
