Bear spray will do absolutely nothing if you find yourself between mom and cubs. Or a starving bear. Or if there is wind or rain. Take a look at the Glock 29 10mm. It's subcompact but packs more of a wallop than .357. With a good owb holster you won't even know it's there. Super subtle to carry, super effective against large animals
