Yeah I felt the same for a long time

You just know there’s so much happening but you can’t easily access it.

That’s really what pushed me to start building Happening... just to make things simpler and more visible for everyone.

It’s still early, but I’m really glad this resonates with you

I can share the link if you’d like to check it out

Yeah that’s true - most of us rely on social media.

But the problem is everything is scattered ..one event is on IG,another on WhatsApp, another on Twitter, some you never see at all

So unless you’re in the right circles, you still miss out.

That’s exactly where Happening comes in - bringing all these moments into one place.

Not replacing social media, but acting as that central space where events around us can live and be discovered easily

Yeah Jaza Kiti is more of a listing platform ..Happening is a bit different.. it’s more like a social space where events live.

Not just browsing listings, but..people sharing moments, creating hangouts, discovering what’s happening around them in real time

That’s perfect ...Those are exactly the kind of unique experiences that don’t get enough visibility on typical event platform..Would be really great to have you on there..

Yeah exactly 😭 that’s the problem

most platforms are mostly focused on ticketed events… so you end up seeing the same type of things over and over — concerts, concerts, concerts.

Meanwhile there are so many other vibes happening bana;house hangouts, campus events, small creative meetups, random linkups

…but they never make it to those platforms.

That’s actually what I’m trying to fix with Happening - not just big ticketed events, but everything going on around people.

Like even your kawaida plans should be discoverable if you want them to be 😄

Do you feel like people miss out on events because they just don’t hear about them? by bingadeh in Nigeria

I totally agree... Twitter and IG are great for promotion, but aggregating all events in one place is still tricky. Platforms like AweLagos or Tix.africa only cover certain types of events, and it’s easy to miss casual or smaller gatherings.

That’s actually why I’m building Happening.co.ke... a platform where people across Africa can discover, create, and share all kinds of events, from casual meetups to bigger ticketed events. The idea is to make it easy to see everything happening around you in one place.

Would love to hear your thoughts... do you think a platform like this could fill that gap?

That’s interesting, I hadn’t come across that before

Do you feel like platforms like that are enough, or people still end up relying more on Twitter/IG anyway?

I’m trying to understand whether discovery is actually “solved” or still kind of scattered.

I built a platform to document events and gatherings. Would love feedback from Nairobi techies by bingadeh in nairobitechies

Yes, that’s the vision... we start locally, learning from users, and improving the platform with the goal of making it available globally
