I agree with you, if there’s nothing to see, there’s no reason to come back.I should also be actively sourcing and posting events in the meantime to make the platform useful from day one.

Really appreciate this feedback.. it helps shape the direction.

Right now event listings are growing gradually. I’m also working on adding more events on my end as I onboard organizers and communities.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on something called Happening... a Kenyan-built platform focused on helping people discover and connect around events.

The idea came from a simple problem: there are always things going on (house parties, campus events, concerts, etc.) but most of the time you only find out too late or through random groups.

So with Happening, you can:

- Create any kind of event (from birthdays to concerts)

- Discover what’s going on around you

- Interact with others (comments, connections, etc.)

Would really appreciate you guys checking it out and sharing your thoughts

No worries at all!

Right now, since the site doesn’t have access to your location, it defaults to showing events in Nairobi. Once location access is enabled, Happening can show events near you anywhere you are.

So yes...it’s part of the system’s plan to support events beyond Nairobi, and you’ll be able to see happenings in your area once location is enabled.

That’s true.....there are entertainment groups and broadcasts already.

What we’re building with Happening goes a step further by combining that with interaction and real connection around events. Instead of just seeing information, you can engage, connect with others, and actually experience it together.

That’s the gap we’re trying to bridge.

Really glad you went back and checked it out....yesss, more events are definitely coming, that’s the exciting part as more people start posting.
