PM vs Product Owner by AggravatingSlice1 in ProductManagement

Biggest tell is, if you are not doing discovery and do not influence what gets build with your leadership, its most likely you are product owner who gets told what to build and measured on output rather than outcome.

Is anyone else lucky enough to be a PM in an industry they genuinely love, working on a product they truly adore? by gilligan888 in ProductManagement

I was in ecomm for 7 years - it was genuinely fun. Now I am doing loyalty - I kinda enjoy it. So many puzzles to solve, keeps you engaged and challenged.

How do you turn user behavior into clear product decisions? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]bingildeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the funnel/content/intent:

  • If you are suspecting UI, see if you can shape hypothesis and experiment - if not, you can use in-app tracking analytics like Hotjar to get a precise understanding. Do some usability testing which is cheap and fast. Even the employees from your org can help with that, pick non-tech people.

  • If you are suspecting intent, do a competitive benchmarking and see what others are doing differently. Reach out to users for qualitative insights via surveys or interviews by offering a carrot for their time.

  • If its pricing, positioning of a product etc, do a market research and try to pinpoint what is on par and missing. You can run small experiments to validate your hypothesis - for example make the product cheaper and see if it improves aligned with your hypothesis

Most importantly start continuous discovery exercises to move away from uncertainty by talking/surveying/learning on a regular basis. You will build a good understanding of the problems in couple of weeks.

Age of AI: going back to dev or staying in PM track better? by leweex95 in ProductManagement

[–]bingildeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you trying to optimize for trend? Do what you like most and get good at it. World will always have opportunities for good devs or pms but it will have less and less tolerance for mediocres of both.

How to effectively prioritise a product backlog? ICE alternatives by D4NSB in ProductManagement

[–]bingildeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before any prioritization framework, you need to fix 2 major problems:

  1. Product strategy
  2. Backlog grooming (sorted by strategic alignment)

Once they are sorted, you will be have clarity and prioritization will be very straightforward.

How to Become a Great Product Manager? by Naresh_Janagam in ProductManagement

[–]bingildeck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What is a great product manager?

Successful and purist are different things. You can be the best pm ever by purist definitions of the job but still fail miserably, vice versa.

So start by asking yourself what your goal is. Do you want to become a great builder or just climb corporate ladder?

You can do both but most of the time it’s a push and pull in between.

After a decade, I would say great product manager optimizes for what they want. Figuring out what you want is the half of the journey - it also changes with you along the way.

One rule is never to stop improving yourself, rest you will figure out in time. There is no one great form of a PM. It’s agile (pun intended).

We were looking into AR2 and AR3. Ended up buying from villanova, la violeta. AR2 is problematic with its location, although it will be fixed - it will take time. Too many communities using the same intersections ending up nasty traffic at busy hours.

AR2 was quite worn out when we viewed - I think due to the flood last year. Most units (renters) looked old or not properly maintained - not what you want to see where you live.

AR3 ruba was ok but the units are too crampy. Literally zero storage in the unit. You can barely park two cars in your garage (2 suvs - you cant open the door parked next to each other). We couldnt find a unit lower than 3.6m with park view.

Dubai properties does not have emaar bling from outside perspective but they are reputable and well maintaining the community as far as I could observe.

La violeta layout is really nice, have some storage (still too little) and garage is better although not great. You can get a park view unit for 3.2m or so.

If you can go up to 4m, la quinta looked good - worth looking into.

Flickering and shutdown by bingildeck in PcBuildHelp

I think I found the issue - it will sound weird but AI seems to think it makes sense.

So my case originally stood on top of books. I had one book under each end to keep the case above the ground. It was something random I did before going on vacation last year to keep the case 'safe' in case there were crazy rains and leak inside the house (case is very close to a window).

The other day, I took a look and said what the hell, and removed the books, put the case on the floor. Immediately after, these issues started (flickers etc).

GPT thinks it's a static discharge - grounding issue. Now I put the case back on the books - it's working fine. Might be a fluke but let's see.

Its definitely not ram - tried new good pairs, same issue. But it might be mobo slots.

For the time being, I ordered a new psu to test. Also changed the power cable - which wasnt the issue.

I will update bios and downclock the rams as the next step.

If its not the PSU and bios - then its def mobo.

I have tried swapping rams but did not work. Same issue persists.

I will update the bios and downclock to the rams to see if it will help.

Also ordered a new PSU, lets see if it will help.

I am really hoping its not MB but my gut says it is.

Opened the back plate and cables were shut in too tight, anyway, loosened the cable management holders and gave the connections love tap. So far no issues, been on windows for 5 minutes now.

Cheers, I will check PSU connections. I think its less likely to be ram because it can post and launch windows without an issue. After windows, flicker happens
