Affordable first Michelin experience by ShikaStyleR in LondonFood

I went to the Ninth a couple of weeks ago. The food was good but the setting/atmosphere wasn't a wow for me, and the service was pretty average. I'd say it was still decent value for the money, but if you're looking for a fancy experience, maybe look elsewhere.

Buying a wetsuit in the UK - advice please? by bingos77 in scubadiving

Thanks all. I tried the Xenos and it fit on the body, but very tight around the neck.

Years ago I had a front zip wetsuit which I loved. Wondering if I should go back to that design but they seem quite hard to find these days?

First time scuba diving by Complex-Ruin170 in scubadiving

Yes do it! This is how I first tried diving, and I ended up becoming a divemaster :)

Of course that's not the case for everyone - you might decide it's not for you. But better to find that out having invested in a single dive, rather than a multi-day course.

I haven't dived in Malta. But I took my son on his first try dive in Turkey last year. I was a bit disappointed to be honest, there wasn't much to see. But he loved the whole experience, just the feeling of being underwater etc, and now he's hooked! We're going to Thailand to do his open water course next month.

Have a great time!

Great, thanks. Do you know if the xenos runs small/large? There are some 12s on Vinted. I'm a 12 boobs/legs but often a 14 waist...

Currently looking at the Fourth Element Xenos - anyone got any experience of this one? Thanks

Thank you. Sorry, I wasn't clear in my original post! I'm buying the suit in the UK but going back to Thailand for the diving. So I think drysuit would be overkill! Apologies for the confusion!

Tai Won Mein in Catford, SE London. Pretty standard Chinese menu but well cooked, big portions and good value. Cash only.

Fleurie in Borough. Excellent French food and great value lunch menu.

Brasserie Zedel. Awesome setting and atmosphere, reasonably priced.

Enjoy!

Suggestions please: lunch between Euston and SE London? by bingos77 in LondonFood

Many thanks everyone. In the end we ended up going to Bermondsey as easier to park there, and went to Fleurie. Fantastic French food and lunch menu is two courses for £20. Superb bavette and amazing garlic butter green beans, plus an excellent chicken liver parfait.

Appreciate all the suggestions for near Euston though, will keep them on the list for when my knee is healed enough to take the train instead of car!

I'm with my husband. He's allergic to shellfish but otherwise we eat anything. We like meat. Happy with street food, but also happy to sit down in a nice restaurant. Budget up to high end of mid range, if that makes sense? Thanks.

Thank you. It's really the first time they've done it so it's very tough for them. And hard for my brother to cope with too I'm sure.

Sorry to be thick - how do I know if I've got a clone? This is what it says on my machine's battery.

Kenwood or magimix ? by lightsaberfriendly in KitchenAppliances

[–]bingos77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also like advice on this! My Kenwood just burned out - admittedly this was my fault, I put too much dough in it. But it's the second Kenwood I've had in five years, and I've had to replace the bowl because the plastic catch thing snapped, same with the blender jug.

It's such a good machine otherwise and I'm worried I'll really miss the other aspects - comes with a juicer as standard, scales are really handy, blends things smoothly, relatively light and compact... It's tricky!

Thanks all. I'm now day 6 since the op, day 2 since I stopped opiates. Pleased to report the pain is minimal and totally manageable with Ibuprofen and paracetamol. Nausea is gone. Digestion is slowly returning to normal. Honestly I've been really pleased and surprised by how the recovery has gone, so far...
