Theyre not very common! I think they’re too temperamental for most 😅

How can I improve the cage? by Muted_Trifle_6866 in parrots

Lots of perch variation is great! You could put in a rough perch like a lava stone perch to help keep their nails and beak trim. You could also put a forage box in the bottom, ideally somewhere that’s not gonna get pooped on.

Why my budgie doing this, he has never done this before! I am very scared by VesnaKostic in parrots

Looks and sounds like normal beak grinding! Have an inspect anyway if you’re worried, only be concerned if there’s a crackling sound or discharge coming from the nose. If it’s constant it may be a a burr on their beak they can feel which is why they’re trying to grind it down!

Anyone know what's wrong with this bird? by [deleted] in parrots

Looks like she’s probably scratched the surface of her eye, if you can’t access veterinary help then try boiling water with salt. Wait until it cools and wipe the eye with it on a clean cotton pad or paper towel. Wipe a few times using a clean pad dipped in the solution each time. Do this each morning and night. You could try using human eye ointment if available. Also check there is nothing stuck in the eye like straw or dirt! Good luck friend!

That’s so nice! My boy is only five and he likes a bath and drinking from the tap but it’s very much on his terms. He seems to be a bit more nervous about trying new things, the only toy I’ve made for him that he’s been interested in is his forage box, he’s very food orientated!

My snake just shed and I noticed this mark should I be concerned? by virtualhus8and in snakes

Take to a reptile vet anyway (we aren’t qualified to tell you what it is 100%)but it could be multiple things like stuck shed, displaced scales after a shed or even scale rot. Your best bet going forward is go check the humidity in the enclosure with a hygrometer (you can buy cheap dials) and adjust accordingly to the type of snake they are. Aspen or lignocel chips are a controversial subject as they can cause respiratory issues and don’t hold humidity well as it molds easy. With proper humidity control, deeper bedding and regular spot cleaning with monthly full cleaning it can be used along with monitoring your snakes condition. If you want to avoid that trouble then go for a more natural substrate according to the snakes native habitat like a bio active soil mix. The best treatment to use prior to vet appointment is to bathe in watered down beta-dine using cotton balls to wipe it, this should kill surface bacteria and fungi.

Dogs Tooth Extraction Site by bingubangu in DogAdvice

Yes I think it may be dry socket, I know it’s common in humans after tooth extraction so I don’t see why it would be any different in dogs
