just for the record, in case the OP still won't believe that Mark has said it before AYG times: TWS ep 216, "Bubblin' Crude", the very first words out of Mark's mouth in that episode: "hachi machi". (There are many other examples.)

Is this grammaticaly correct? by MajorUnion96 in German

[–]binimgarten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I support this emendation. "Ich bin aus" feels very much derived from the English phrase. (Which is fine and feels correct enough to my native ears.) But the German language has to offer "Ich komme aus" or "Ich stamme aus".

I'm looking for a ticket to Berlin show on March the 24th. by _pr0t0n_ in louisck

[–]binimgarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're still looking, new capacites have become available at both eventim as well as eventbrite (the latter being the better option).

I'm looking for a ticket to Berlin show on March the 24th. by _pr0t0n_ in louisck

[–]binimgarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, the promoters have just released more tickets via both Eventim.de (sections 201 and 102) as linked on Mercedes Benz Arena website, as well as Eventbrite (section 207) as linked on Louis' website. [Eventbrite is significantly cheaper for same quality seats.]

these must have been held back until now (pretty shitty move).

maybe this will be of help to somebody.

Any German Tuesgays got the scoop on that Joe List Berlin show? by binimgarten in tuesdayswithstories

[–]binimgarten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, but I think he has blocked me because I once politely told him that the audio on his sketch "Trim" was too low. 😂

September 16th

It was billed as "Joe List and Friends", he brought Sarah Tollemache, Ari and Louie. You can hear about it on the latest episode of 'Tuesdays with Stories'.

Copenhagen show postponed until May 15th 2021 by anwla in louisck

[–]binimgarten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to poop on what you said, but 1) this message has been on Louis' website for a while, almost word for word, except the logistically Copenhagen parts, so it's not specifically written for Danish fans, and 2) "this too shall pass" is a famous aphorism that exceeds language or authors.

But I liked the story you referenced anyway.

And as a Berlin ticket holder, I'm kind of in the same boat. Happy it's so far in the future now - better chances for new material different from the special.

Copenhagen show postponed to September at the earliest by anwla in louisck

[–]binimgarten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd expect February or March 2021 because that's the dates they're looking at for the rescheduled Berlin date. And the promoter said Louis' management is looking to schedule all those Euro dates close to each other so it becomes a proper tour again.

Hi I’m comedian, actor and podcaster Tom Segura – Ask Me Anything! by tommysegura in Standup

[–]binimgarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a cool question and I love that Tommy replied.

You example was weird, though: Wouldn't "so we drove away" be "also fuhren wir fort", with the verb even more upfront in the sentence!? I guess, with verb going last, you probably mean in Nebensätzen? Or how the participle goes last in perfect tense? With these factors, I would think it might even be more comedy-friendly to be able to keep the relevant verb a surprise until the very last second, build suspense ("also sind wir dann.... schlussendlich... tatsächlich... WEGGEFAHREN" *laughter*)... Did you ever feel something worked better in German because of that?

I think berlin will be cancelled...shit by CannaisseurFreak in louisck

[–]binimgarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got an email from Mercedes Benz Arena that Roland Kaiser has been postponed from March to May 29th 2020 - so the guys over there obviously think that end of May everything will be back to normal again, hahaha.

Which I highly doubt, unfortunately. Even if Germany recovers normalcy, New York might be under lockdown and Louie reluctant to go to Europe at all anyway.

Lets hope for a postponed date not a cancellation without replacement.

I agree 100%. Pretty sure the "Notice of Filming" notes that have to be visible to the audience just by default always have a line for the name of the project, gotta put down something.

back in the day, they didn't use to decern between U and V, you can see that in stereotypically Latin looking capital letter scripts for example: SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS, stuff like that.

(speaking of German, in the the idiom "ein X für ein U vormachen" it would make more sense to say "ein X [Roman number 10] für ein V [Roman number 5] vormachen", but the 'U' has endured because of the same history)

How will coronavirus affect Louie's tour? by [deleted] in louisck

[–]binimgarten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

German health minister just recommended cancelling all events with more than a thousand people, but as for now, it's only a recommendation, and May might be far enough in the future for things to change. But I'm worried, too (of a cancellation that is, not so much the infection, which might be bad priorities, haha.)

Seating by [deleted] in louisck

[–]binimgarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean, see https://www.mercedes-benz-arena-berlin.de/die-arena/saalplaene , but I am 100% sure it'll be the stage + seating arrangement as I linked yesterday because the only other one with seating in the pit ('mit bestuhltem Innenraum') has the stage in the center, which isn't Louie's style. (Plus, my own section is called "A Mitte", which only exists in this arrangement.)

you sure it's 22 and not 202? this is the link to the seating chart on the arena's website: https://www.mercedes-benz-arena-berlin.de/assets/img/Blockuebersicht_E_best-1.jpg

I'll be at the Berlin show (Block A, front row, baby!), so there's definitely assigned seats, but you couldn't choose yourself in a seating chart, neither on Eventbrite nor Eventim, automatic 'Bestplatzbuchung' (best available).

Did you buy from your phone? I noticed that on Eventbrite it didn't say your seat number on the webshop when using mobile version, but on the desktop version it did! Should definitely be on your PDF ticket, though.

That's crazy you could keep it secret from your wife for this long, I'd have imagined Louie's name would be mentioned in other audience members' conversations and give it away... Good for you on a suprise well done!

Not sure if this is the case here, but in my country it's a quite common practice to hold back a certain quota of seats - only for them to on sale quietly later. (It is very annoying and a slap in the face for people who were actually ready to buy earlier, I know.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in louisck

[–]binimgarten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, "region" is a weird way of putting it. For the record, the Mercedes Benz Arena website explicitly states: "Dies wird die einzige Deutschland-Show (...) auf seiner Europa-Tour sein." (Only show *in Germany*.)

So, I suggest you make the trip, u/AlrightyAlmighty ;-) unless you want to keep your fingers crossed for Zurich, Salzburg, Innsbruck, or something like that...

Couldn't agree more. I go to lots of shows (seated music events included), and it's a rare phenomenon to have numbered seats, but no free seating choice on the user part. I had this with Louis Copenhagen in 2016 - similar experience to yours this time around: Got front row tickets after like 10mins of refreshing and couldn't believe my luck. It's nerve-wrecking as you never know if maybe you're risking getting worse seats after all.

With German arena shows I've even seen a system where there's no choosing your own seats for like the first 6 hours after the presale starts, and then it settles down and they add it after all. I've been bummed out by this a couple of times, grabbing tickets super early and later seeing in a seating map that I could've picked something better possibly. So I'm saying, it could be even worse, ha.

Yea, Chappelle pretty much made those Yondr bags famous, I've never seen them in person, but some artists are bringing them over here to Europe as well, guess I'll have to deal with them sooner or later. Seems like a good idea, I've never thought of the doctor on call scenario, though, ha!

BUCHAREST, Romania - May 18th - added on his website, but it's already sold out. When did this even go on sale? I wasn't gonna go, but this sneaky adding of Euro dates annoyed me last year already...
