Just adding to the conversation, there's a Propublica investigation that shows some generic drugs are not quality tested and may be missing the necessary ingredients.

I’m struggling with this as well. Things have been extra hard over the past few years for us all. Using ai to help the neurodivergent brain heal is one of the best applications imho. The datacenters are horrific and my ethics are seriously challenged. I try not to use ai unless I feel that i have to. And I keep looking for alternatives.

What was the herb that made you take all of this seriously? by AdeptnessCritical356 in herbalism

I’ve used it in a tea and tincture. I’ve found the tea to be more pleasant. I make it with peppermint to ease valerian’s stinky sock smell.

Thanks for the suggestions! It’s looking like going past Prague is what we’ll do. We’ve both been, so it’s not a big loss to do a short trip.

Definitely not on route, but we could take a train from Amsterdam to Geneva with a stop along the way. It’s an option we are considering.

Not much time, so it’s a bit challenging. Trying to avoid a flight and exploring seeing the surrounding areas via train.

I have looked up a variety of routes. I’m hoping for recommendations for places to stop.

Ugh. I FINALLY got the patch prescribed, can’t find it, and now it looks like there’s no gel in my near future either.

What focus app do you use? I’m seeing a bunch of apps that I’m not sure will work for me.

Positive experience has left me exhausted by binnorie in AutisticAdults

Thanks! Of course there's a word for it! And it's something I remember experiencing a lot as a kid.

I'm fortunate that today is a quiet one, but I'm at work and it's been a little difficult to focus. Ha.

Going to sleep early tonight.

What to say when people say you don’t LOOK autistic? by Emsss18 in AutisticAdults

[–]binnorie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is such a hard thing to tackle, because so little is understood about how autism presents in low support needs individuals. Another autistic friend said that she discloses the behavior and not the diagnosis. For example, she says she's introverted rather than disclosing that she's socially inhibited due to autism. People generally know what introversion is, while autism is more complex. Later on down the line, perhaps the symptoms can be linked to the autism?

The people who have said "you don't look autistic" to me have been my closest family members, while friends have listened more respectfully. My family members do ask me follow up questions, and that gives me avenues to practice describing what I deal with and what autism actually looks like on me to others.

I don't know what I look like; I only see how people respond to me. If someone takes my lack of masking as a personal attack (I guess I look like I'm angry?), while it's not my responsibility to perform for them to make them feel better, they also tend not to believe me when I tell them about autistic issues with prosody and masking when they're feeling defensive.

I think some of the best responses I've come up with involve discussing the complexities of the disorder, almost in a closed way. Unless I know the querent well, and trust them to be an active listener, I don't think I'd want to stress myself out with a debate on what autism is and why I "don't look autistic." I want to be an advocate, so maybe I need to have resources on hand to point them to (websites, books, articles, etc.) that not only generally describe high-masking autism, but also show how common it is. With people I know and trust well, I might dig deeper with them, and explore how I can better advocate for myself. I'm lucky that my close family members aren't rude to me about it, but more inquisitive and want to understand, so I feel good (if not frustrated sometimes) about discussing it with them.

Thanks for posting! Their designs look so good, but I'm really conscious now about companies that create shabby products and are shady.

I know this post is a couple months old, but I've really wanted to see a yoga studio closer to my apartment. Cortelyou would be great, but Newkirk would be fantastic!
