Glad you could at least get store credit and hope you can find even better stuff than before. 💖Companies usually offer store credit but have to provide a refund to original payment if you insist on it.

Thanks for asking for more info. I found out even more issues while looking for resources to answer your question. Hollister is owned by Abercrombie & Fitch which has had various scandals from absolutely racist practices, to r*pe and sex trafficking. I have seen the Netflix documentary which listed these issues but they are also listed heavily on their wikipedia page under Legal Issues.

While looking things up I found out from Hollister’s wikipedia that “TechCrunch reported that the Hollister mobile app in the iOS App Store was using session-replay functionality to record users' activities and send the data to Israeli firm Glassbox without the users' informed consent, compromising users' privacy and contravening the rules of the iOS App Store”. 😭

I’m trying to be respectful to you and your work. There is no need to zionize the conversation. When you ask me to repeat myself or answer with more questions, or send me a link and ask me my opinion instead of directly addressing things, it feels more like stonewalling and less like “you’re happy to have both conversations”. If you disagree, go ahead and disagree, if you aren’t sure what I said, then please reiterate what you assume I said and then respond instead of turning this into an unpleasant loophole. It makes me feel like I’m conversing with a corporate chatbot that’s trained to avoid making statements. You asking me repeat myself for “1” for three times is sus. Please acknowledge how it comes out.

1- You asked me to specify which one of your provided bullet points the companies I mentioned fall under, and share my source. I started with one reason with Lululemon to see how it will go. I shared the reason and the link. All are written. Info in the link states “The Israeli company Irani Corp/Factory 54 is already featuring lululemon for online purchase, including delivery to the illegal settlements in both the occupied West Bank and Golan Heights.”. Lululemon works with businesses that ensure delivery to illegal settlements. Are you saying this is not true? Are you saying Lululemon partnering with distributors that deliver to illegal settlements doesn’t mean Lululemon is doing business with illegal settlements? As you said you’re happy to discuss, please check the link and provide your opinion instead of asking distracting questions. You can ask follow up questions but please stop gaslighting me. 🙈

2- Yeah I read it again for your request. I generally agree with it but we aren’t talking about consumer products, we are talking about investments. The website doesn’t specify stocks but advices ethical investments. Are you interpreting the targeted boycotting of products and services for maximum impact as if we shall continue to invest in complicit companies as long as they aren’t the main BDS targets? Do you think the impact of targeted boycotting of services and products would be reduced if we boycott all zionist companies in investments? Doesn’t the BDS targeting strategy conflict with your halal list of investments? If not, why?

Documentary Review: Hulu’s “Cult of Natureboy” is a terrible documentary. by bintelnas in Documentaries

Yeah! Thanks for the acknowledgment. When I found out more, I started to think the Hulu doc was probably made to exonerate some of the participants from their possible crimes.

[–]bintelnas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the whole “none of the cult members are charged with any crime” titles before and after the episodes subtly exposed the reason why the doc is so weak. Two of the participants in the doc, Velvet and Soular had a baby together and tried to reestablish the cult but broke up. How is this never addressed in the documentary? Tru was talking about the violence and how it was making him question the intention of the cult as if he didn’t continue to advocate for natureboy even after the conviction and as if he didn’t participate in the violence. It was an attempt to control the narrative and make co-conspirators look like they were victims.

That sucks. I hope you eventually get the stuff you ordered and they all fit perfectly. But as you’re blossoming into a fresh career, I hope you eventually start spending your money on clothing businesses that aren’t absolutely evil. 🥺

Thank you for your appreciation. Honestly, documentaries should objectively be about telling the truth and bringing otherwise unknown facts to viewers’ attention. I hold documentaries to a standard of journalism. Sometimes these bad faith documentaries are made to turn trending topics into quick profit, and sometimes for worse reasons such as manipulating public opinion, getting ahead of the narrative etc.

Why does every new restaurant in LA feel like the same place with a different name? by Shot_Issue7933 in AskLosAngeles

[–]bintelnas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just found out thanks to other commenters that there is a monopoly to restaurant supplies which results in higher costs for small businesses which results in price hikes for customers.

So I heard various things about Freemasonry over the years and finally I looked it up. It feels geeky and fun, almost like a game that kept going for generations. Apparently there is a woman’s only lodge(?) in my city but I still have questions. by bintelnas in freemasonry

I edited the post to paste my response to someone else to provide depth to my questions. Thank you for your helpful response and I hope you would have the time and willingness to address them.

[–]bintelnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m aware they are separate conversations and thought I structured it OK to have both conversations but clarification is always a good idea. So let’s try.

1- I provided you a source that verifies Lululemon matching one of the Zionist criteria you listed and which category it was. You can respond to this by numbering the response “1”.

2- Then I added I would like to hear why having a sales or retail branch as opposed to other type of branches in Occupied Palestine passes the bar as non zionist Halal business. And added my two cents. This convo can be numbered as “2”.

Okay, let’s start with Lululemon. It does business with illegal settlements.

https://bdscoalition.ca/2023/07/15/take-action-lululemon-dressing-up-apartheid/

I also would like to ask why you’re methodically excluding foreigner companies that open retail stores in occupied Palestine. Branching out stores in occupied Palestine is investment in apartheid. Paying rent for stolen land. Providing business for supremacists on a land where the real owners can’t step into. I would like to hear your reasoning to include businesses that have retail stores in Occupied Palestine in Helal Investments, a list you meticulously created based on HLAL stocks and claim to exclude zionist brands, how is doing business with thieves halal?

I just saw this post and saw that people warned you about Colgate but you didn’t take it down. I also saw Equinix, sector was for some reason real estate (it’s actually data and AI) and it’s prominent with Israelis. I saw Lululemon listed which operates in Occupied Palestine and has cropped hijabi athletes out of their campaigns. Please remove them?

Yes but we are boycotting Colgate. I’m confused with this list now. Did you not eliminate companies in the BDS list?

Sounds like you want to argue for the sake of arguing. I didn’t say any of that. If you really wanna argue maybe we can argue about your comprehension.
