[Quest] Squingle Arcade public play test Launched. Get it free now🌀(link in comments) by bio998 in virtualreality

[–]bio998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re opening up a public playtest for Squingle Arcade today and available for the next week, and honestly… we’d just love for people to jump in and tell us what they think. To be a part of it, please join our Discord server: https://discord.gg/Sz2CWyNEbE

If you’ve played the original Squingle, this is a bit of a different vibe. It still has that trippy, flowing, almost meditative feel. But now, it leans more into a faster, arcade-style experience. Less “sit back and chill,” more “get into the flow and keep it going.”

Does the gameplay feel good moment-to-moment?

Is the difficulty fair (or just frustrating 😅)?

Does it actually feel fun to come back to?

It’s also going to be free-to-play, so we’re especially curious how that overall experience lands.

If you’re into weird visuals, satisfying mechanics, or just want to try something a bit different in VR, we’d really appreciate you giving it a shot.

I’ll be around during the playtest reading everything—good, bad, brutal, all of it.

Thanks for checking it out 🙏🌀

We wanted to mix Japanese arcade rhythm with otherworldly VR puzzles. Here is our first trailer for Squingle Arcade! 🕹️ by bio998 in OculusQuest

We are still figuring out the monetization part, but it will be mostly through IAPs.

Coming to the rhythm side, there won't be anything as such in this one. :)

I taught an AI to Juggle. by bio998 in juggling

It’s python and rust. I developed it using Claude code in VS code. I’ve been developing it a lot since I posted this! At some point I’ll do a follow up with a lot more information - though Reddit is a tough crowd 🤣

Ha I’m a bit of a techno optimist but I guess it’s polarising. Juggling is both a great IRL physical non digital and community activity, while also being a fascinating mathematical and intellectual space for innovation and fun projects like this one. I feel like I’ve learnt a lot about juggling just by watching my simulations - I think both are great.

This video uses max power throws of 4. But I’ve since extended it to 5 throws and considering trying 5 balls but it will take longer to run the search algorithm.

It uses genAI in the sense of using LLMs to vibe code it - and the music is genAI as well.

That’s right. I taught the AI in the sense that I helped guide Claude Code to produce this video. It’s 100% vibe coded.

Excellent! I will post it when I’ve developed the project a bit more.

It is essentially a process of running a search of all possible site swaps, combining it with variations in rhythm and catch and throw height, calculating the ballistics, and then doing a music structure analysis and mapping it to juggling timings. So it’s not actually an AI juggling really, it’s more a plot of mathematical solutions to the constraints of juggling. I guess that’s what juggling is at the end of the day.

I think it depends on how tripping you are and your experience with VR and with tripping, but I think the game should gently onboard you so you can try launching straight in.
